The "Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies" on Coursera helped me gain an understanding cryptocurrencies. Until I took that course I knew very little about the subject.

It's possibly a little dated now, but it's a good primer.

I'd love to hear what other cryptocurrency courses others recommend.

As many others mentioned, Andrew Ng's course on Machine Learning on Coursera was also very good.

A couple of years back I went on a week-long hike deep enough into the country that I had no internet, no AC power, etc. While I was away from the internet, I realized was how often I was interrupted by useless emails, so when I returned, I unsubscribed from dozens of email lists I had ended up on over the years. I didn't realize the sheer volume of lists I was on, because it happened gradually, but some time away helped me realized how uninterrupted my life could be and how useless the information I was receiving was.

I still find myself clicking "unsubscribe" quite often, or opting out of email lists when I sign up. I don't miss the additional interruptions to my day.

"The Score Takes Care of Itself" by Bill Walsh: http://www.amazon.com/The-Score-Takes-Care-Itself/dp/1591843...

Jack Dorsey recommended this title at Startup School 2013 and I got around to reading it in 2014. It's also one of the readings for YC's "How to Start a Startup" class: http://startupclass.samaltman.com/lists/readings/

I didn't think the leadership notes from a highly successful NFL (American professional football) coach would have much application in the world of technology, but Walsh's insights and discipline can be applied to many different fields. It's changed the way I work as I lead teams and I realize I have a lot more to learn and apply in my day-to-day duties.

"The Score Takes Care of Itself" does get a bit behind-the-scenes in the football world, but if the reader is willing to get past those parts, or better, learn the lessons in some of the stories, there is a lot to be gained.

I have 1161 entries dating back to my first on August 18, 2010. I really love the service, but understand if they have to shut it down.

Thanks to the founders for keeping such an easy-to-use service around for so long. I'm off to find an alternative. My list of features isn't long. A daily email with a reminder and a previous post from the last year, month or week. It's that simplicity that kept me using the service.

I attended in 2010, the year that Zuckerberg answered a few questions about "The Social Network" movie.

The talks are more inspirational than informative, but seeing them live was a great experience. What really made it great for me was the chance to be around hundreds of like-minded individuals and have a few conversations about startups that I'd not have gotten in my home city (I live outside SV). There are also pre and post parties to attend and meet more people. There's just an atmosphere there that can't be created easily.

If airfare wasn't an issue, I'd not hesitate to go again. I am assuming it is still free. It was well worth the day I invested.

I live in Atlanta, and notice that it has many of the advantages of an inland city without being as tied to a boom/bust cycle that oil cities can have. Surely there are other US cities that have a lower cost of living that isn't tied to a single industry. I'd love to hear what experience others have.
