In North America we are on 120V, making a standard 15A outlet only 1500W max, and something like 1200W sustained.
It's 1800W for short periods and 1500W sustained.
Just provide a downloadable version. Your server side should be just a glorified templating engine and a DB from consumers' point of view.
Charge for the local version, of course.

One possible trick: round down the normal volume size to the nearest 1Gb and encrypt it (who doesn't use encryption today?!?) and use it for non-secret data with a password that you're willing to divulge if pressed. This is innocuous enough.
Then use the rest of the drive (~1Gb) for a hidden TrueCrypt volume with a secure key.

It depends on what you mean by "contribute". Multiple studies put half-life of PLA microplastics at a range between weeks to a month (e.g. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S02697... ), so they can't create a persistent hazard.
But you have a problem when you want to compare two numbers (to see if the particles overlap). Or if you want to divide one number by another.
In theory, in classical physics if you start a simulation on a Turing machine, then all the initial states must be computable. And you can carry on using symbolic representation of numbers, even with transcendental functions (as long as you compute them to a precision necessary to carry out the next step of the simulation).
But with quantum mechanics, we might have true randomness, so precise classic simulation can become impossible after the first interaction.
This is also misleading. PLA plastic degrades slowly in the environment because it's highly crystalline and mechanically robust.
But once it's fragmented, it's rapidly degraded. So it doesn't contribute to persistent microplastics.
It also does not take 80 years in normal environmnets.
There are people who want slaves/servants and who delight in forcing other people do their bidding.
Anyone who worked in a service industry knows this. But fortunately most people are not like that.
To be fair, I don't consider my research all that great. This is not a good methodology because it can be affected by hyperlocal effects. I just used the same approach as in papers that looked at the _benefits_ of bike lanes.
There is very little good-quality research on wider impact of bike lanes on business in the US. One pre-COVID study found little effect in either direction when a large LA neighborhood added bike lanes.
The only definitive result for the US is that bike lanes have very little impact on the absolute percentage of bike commutes (it stays around 2-3%).
Quite possibly yes. But remember that argument when people tell you about the benefits of bike lanes and cite studies about them.

My own research. I'll compile and publish it.
And yes, I'm _very_ aware of these papers. I used the same methodology as they did :) Note the timestamp on them, they are from the time when Seattle was booming.
And I even specifically looked at the Fourth Avenue that they used as a control because it also got a protected bike lane.
I have _not_ yet checked this hypothesis thoroughly, but from a cursory look at the data, the increase in business can be explained by highly-paid professionals moving into dense housing nearby (we can see that by looking at real estate prices and historical apartment rent data) and by tourists from cruise ships. It's further corroborated by the fact that the percentage of bike commutes did not increase significantly enough.
Or maybe the general urbanistic upswing was able to overcome business-killing properties of bike lanes before?
If you look at research on bike lanes in American cities (or in other well-designed human-oriented modern cities), they typically _at_ _most_ don't affect businesses. There's scarce evidence of them helping anything but creating traffic jams.
Perhaps once that event is identified, we can consider what businesses did survive and compare them to the foot traffic heavy businesses and see if there's some other qualitative difference between those that made it through and those that didn't.
I live in Seattle, and that's what initially motivated me too look at modern urbanism. I was very much a proponent of "stong towns", transit, and all other stuff before. Then I noticed that areas that get an "urbanistic renewal" always get worse around here, and that was even before COVID.
Now the difference is just stark. Seattle Downtown is a ghost town. Bellevue (a city across the lake from Seattle) did not do anything significant with its downtown car infrastructure, and it's thriving. And even in _Seattle_ a place called "University Village" is doing fine. Because it's away from transit, bike lanes, and has a lot of free parking.
My own research, using business tax receipts following the same methodology as in PeopleForBikes papers. Yes, I'm compiling them into a book.
3. Residents discover bike lanes are quiet, and they also reduce ambient noise levels due to reduced car traffic, air is also cleaner, roads and intersections are safer.
Except that 3 doesn't actually happen... Bike lanes stay empty and kill businesses.
In Seattle and Portland the businesses within 1 block of new bike lanes declined faster after 2019.
Parents can also restrict usage or set rules for appropriate use. Many do.
If you talk with teachers, some of them complain that kids are on the phone with _parents_ during the class time. And that parents loudly complain to the headmaster if the teacher tries to prevent their child from speaking to them.
Yes, it sounds crazy, but it's true.
ALL modern electronics should be banned from regular classrooms, up to and including projectors. We now have evidence that at _best_ it does not help. At worst it's actively harming students.
(yes, yes, with obvious exemptions for special needs, computer science classes and so on).
Well, yes. But I can do that with a nice UI in Mikrotik.
Other things: switch port management and bridging, proxy ARP, and so on.
For things like multiple DHCP/PD servers for multiple networks, subnetting (with dynamic prefixes), firewall rules, etc.

However, this doesn't mean that TMs can't operate on such numbers.
Well, it kinda does. For example, you can't compute the sum of two arbitrary real values in a finite number of steps.
That being said, it's possible that the universe actually is not "running" on real numbers. This would also mean that our physics built on top of calculus is just an approximation.
This has always fascinated me. You can't really construct a meaningful amount of calculus without having real-valued variables. The intermediate value theorem depends on it, and it's one of the foundational parts.
I tried to construct something like "bounded error rational calculus", by trying to use rational ranges instead of real values and then constraining the range size. I was able to recover _some_ calculus, but I really have not studied it in enough details.
Turing machines can't operate on arbitrary real-numbered values because they require infinite precision.
If the universe indeed uses real values, it's possible that it's more powerful than Turing machines.
Mikrotik is really a sweet spot for routers. It's feature-rich and it has a nice Web UI (or WinBox that is now cross-platform). And Mikrotik as a company is just amazing; they still support hardware that is almost 15 years old.
Other routers:
1. OpenWRT is a bit too basic, and updates are hit-and-miss.
2. Ubiquity is a bit too Apple-like, with its reliance on apps and integration.
3. Cisco is WAY too expensive, and too complicated to set up without having Cisco experience.
I'm now eagerly waiting for them to release the next generation of their routers. hEX Pro looks perfect to replace my aging CCR2004.

I would say that China is trying to steer the car makers away from competing locally, as it's going to result in a price war. But that's not quite dumping per se.
One of my personal rules is to ALWAYS suffix the variables and fields with unit names:
`timeout_ms` or `rate_kbps`, NOT `timeout` or `rate`.
Unless the variable type already constrains it (e.g. Duration in Go).

The orbital velocity at this distance is around 1 km/s, so you can fairly trivially (compared to anything else) zero it out. Then you can just hover in place, the solar gravity acceleration at this range is in _microns_ per second squared.
For all intents and purposes, you'll be in the interstellar space.
