I wish you success and I hope the collaboration with google was financially rewarding but end of the day everything that doesn't work out would mentally hurt and thereby reduce chances of future successes. I would request you to kindly focus!

I don't want to sound too girle or fanboyish but there is no other way to say it so I'll say it (hopefully he won't read this)- Mark Russinovich transcends titles and if he's said something about technology, it's probably 99.999% true.

Also, RITF, I love Rust but remember zig exists so chill

I also want to say one thing-- sometimes it's not so easy to just decide to write a project and say okay let me write this in Rust. You have to see available ecosystem. I hate python because I'm a systems programmer at heart but damn sometimes all it takes is a pip install, import and 3 lines to get going and understanding things.

Rust ecosystem is hugely lacking. I don't want to spend time writing boilerplate FFI. I've heard zig is better in this regard

On that note,is there a not self hosted but reasonably popular chat service that i don't know of where i can give people my username a la discord and have them chat with me? I cannot continue to use discord in good conscience

The very fact that a forum moderator is celebrated like a hero (who never says out loud that there is actually a team in existence), and a guy who called Microsoft dead as a genius next only to gos should tell you all you want to know about the average level of discourse here and quite frankly going against the flow is something I'll have to fault you with at this point since this place is pretty much conformation central.

So what made me finally quit, i Was working on two machines and has a lot of conflicts after diversion. At some point magit crashed (my fault). Trying to merge them was very frustrating.

While everyone should migrate asap, i hope the powers that be learn lessons and next time create standards that consider himan factors as well (personally recollection is important to me too, not that that's a major factor in stalling migration)
