If you've never seen neon up close, plasma is such an incredible light source. It's like the light is just floating being emitted from empty space. I took a neon workshop a few years ago, and it became clear why people are still willing to painstakingly make these signs - there is really nothing comparable to them, they're like magic

Yeah I know. I misunderstood the 12-15hr battery life comment. They're saying the battery lasts for 12-15hrs *of recording*. Very different statements.

It's kind of interesting reading the scathing comments about the lack of a rechargable battery, but it probably makes the most sense if the two year battery life claims are true, as you'd likely be ready for an upgrade by then and the technology would be cheaper and/or more advanced. This thing isn't an iphone. It weighs a few grams. There's likely less silicon and battery in it than in the singing greeting card you got two year old for their birthday. Everyone needs to chill out

That discrepancy isn't explainable given a change in daily use. 12hrs vs 2 years is a 1000x difference. You're saying they expected people to use it 1000x less than they actually are? That's them expecting people to use it for 1 min per day, and people actually are using it for 16 hours per day

It only works as a decoy when you give it to the LLM as an image. As html it appears like normal human friendly text, which is what screen readers use to interpret the text.

If your immediate reaction to a new piece of software siphoning up someone’s entire system full of highly personal data is, “you’re holding it wrong”, it might help to take a beat and remember that software was developed by a multi-trillion dollar company’s entire business model revolves around siphoning up as much highly personal data as possible

scared of offending someone that intentionally they make their model lie

You’re conflating two completely different aspects of model development - biases vs truth. The models weren’t intentionally programmed to say the untruths but to remove racism and bias and the outcome was untruth. As such, the developers behind Grok are comfortable with their model doing heinous things no other model developer will go near. It’s been very difficult to articulate this to you so I’ll just bow out and leave you to continue repeating yourself

Grok was originally designed to reply to twitter threads.

Other models are designed to do real work and their creators are concerned that the inherent racism and biases they were trained on from internet content will end up in said real work, so they require additional alignment to filter that junk out.

I can't think of a time where I've ever asked an LLM for it's political opinion, but if you're so concerned about asking your LLM political questions it might be worth getting multiple opinions (and some from human experts and literary sources) anyways.

I’ve been making ice cream at home for the last few years and I’ll never go back. Store bought is all trash now. If you haven’t had the chance to taste ice cream from a Ninja Creami, you’re missing out!

You're confusing biases (stereotypes, bigotry, racism) with facts (2+2=4 isn't a bias)

ChatGPT Work 13 days ago

I just downloaded the new dmg and it's the old chatGPT. Maybe they are listening?

It was driven by a need to remove biases (and likely real racism) from the models. They were trained on internet content

There is absolutely nothing wrong with remaking a 30 year old game if it’s done correctly, and Nintendo usually does it right.

I'm way behind in imagegen - only using it occasionally for roleplaying tokens, goofing around, and random personal assets. To me, this is nuts. It's able to create images in like 2 seconds... before with chatgpt it would take 30s-1m for the same quality image. I don't get the negative comments here
