This is so cool! Streaming videos while the Manim code is still generating is super impressive - sure that took a lot of hacking.

If anyone wants to file more Radars, mine is FB7590236 (so you can just tell them yours is a dupe of that one and they'll combine them).
I obviously don't have the actual stats, but I think this is widely used by parents (of the parents I know, usage of the various Screen Time restrictions seems standard, which makes sense to me).
Why hasn't it been noticed? The user isn't the customer. Parents enable the feature, but I doubt they actually use the iPad with filters on and look at what it's blocking. One of the first replies to my tweet was a mom who had been asked by their child yesterday why they'd blocked the word "teen"[1] - and of course they didn't know!
And great idea on filing a Radar as well! (I already backchanneled this to a couple friends who work at Apple, so hopefully it just gets duped to their reports.)

Oh hi! I don't really use Twitter, but I noticed this and wanted to help it get on the right people's radars.
Apple's scale is what makes this especially unacceptable. How many children and teens around the world are using iOS devices with parental restrictions enabled? There is a huge audience dealing with this incredibly poorly-engineered and poorly-considered feature.

SelfControl - a free Mac focus app that helps users block their own access to distracting websites
In case it wasn't clear, the comment you're replying to is trolling and you should ignore it.
You'll be fine. There's still a good bit of demand for junior programmers, and there are no signs of that going away anytime soon. If you're in a top-tier bootcamp and you do well in it, you will come out ready to take junior positions, roughly comparable to a new CS grad minus their internships (which do give them an advantage). Just don't expect a $105K base salary at your first job - some bootcamps set unrealistic expectations to sell you on the program.
Keep working on the bootcamp, write some open-source code on the side, focus as hard as you can at getting better. It'll work out.

Exactly. Joins and changefeeds being the big ones. We won't switch over everything, at least to start, but there are a few places where switching a collection to RethinkDB could give us huge efficiency/simplicity gains just using joins. And it shouldn't be too hard to switch single collections over by using Compose.io's Transporters to backfill into Mongo.
Excited for this! We've been hoping to switch at least part of our infrastructure to Rethink, but were waiting for 2.0.
Are real benchmarks on the way with this release also? That's one critical thing we've been waiting to see. We want to see how it compares in common load scenarios to Mongo, Postgres, etc
