Does anyone have a solid place to start with functional programming? Don't really care too much about the language it's associated with but would really like to jump into learning the concepts behind it.

That is the ugliest thing I've seen in a long time, more power to you if you like the appearance, but I can't seem them bringing in sales for that thing for the design.

Yea but the process is never just coding project... It's either just whiteboard interviews or a coding project and then whiteboard interviews. There's never a reduction in time here

Why does everyone assume that you're asked to write perfect code on a whiteboard? I've been through 15+ interviews and have never been asked to worry about method names being right or signatures of methods being perfect and such. Most of the time people are amicably against me worrying about it. This isn't an issue.

some people don't want to text, regardless if you're on an iphone or not. I've had people I just don't talk to much anymore because they only want to use iMessage and hate when it's the different color for someone out of the ecosystem.

Author here, I hope this post doesn't come off as a, "Let's all stop using Java for everything because Kotlin is amazing." Just wanted to write it because I had found Kotlin pretty interesting and I was able to find some places in the code bases I work with that would make it a lot more readable and easier to understand.

I always saw it as a strong portable machine for people who needed to work on the go. I'm sure video editors, photo editors, audio people use shortcuts and do touch typing.

This was literally the biggest issue for when I started at my first job. We had a team member who was terribly condescending and talked down to everyone but especially me. You could tell that he hated the fact that he was on a team with a junior developer and took every chance he had to made sure I knew I wasn't as good as him. It makes a terrifying environment to ask questions because who knows what kind of response you're going to get.
