Why not use Node’s built-in testing platform with node --test for server-side purposes or small projects? You can run typescript too. The only drawback is the lack of an expect function, but you can easily built your own or use mine, it’s called tinyexpect.
People with friends, relationships, families and kids will recover more easily. The rest of us, we’re doomed. The more you enjoy little things, the better for your mental health. Laughing helps, I used to laugh every day about silly things, now I find everything dumb or pathetic.
Im struggling with depression too, homesick for 1 year. Can’t go anywhere cause of panic attacks, no health insurance, no money. No jobs because I live in the Balkans. I develop software but can’t sell it. I’m thinking of buying some chickens and start selling eggs.
VW is going down. The market is way too competitive, and they can't keep up. Imposing sanctions on China is the only way for them to get back on their feet.
Majority f laptops today are equipped with 8 gigs of RAM. However, this isn't enough because most developers no longer write software based on the current hardware specs of the market as they used to. It's not that it's impossible, they just don't care about user's hardware and they focus on developing software with lot's of features.
Node.js runs everywhere and has the most popular frameworks, which are still maintained by thousands of developers. You also get serverless functions and NPM with millions of public packages.
WebAssembly is the Flash of 2010. Even if companies adapted I would rather block it from running on my machine. I prefer transparency these days because almost every company is abusing user’s privacy.
The moment he clarifies about his position on the AI market makes him another seller deeply trying to sell his product. It’s like those articles from 90’s and 00’s speculating the end of the C language with titles like “C is dead” or “C is going to be replaced in the near Future”. The year will be 2060 and C will still dominate the market.
All good but there's an elephant in the room called corruption. I don't think Greece will ever reduce the levels of corruption, even today the current party has 300M in dept and having major scandals that get covered by the controlled TV media.
Node.js is a mature framework and never had problems with it. I also write my own code and avoid installing useless packages. Truth is everyone likes fresh projects like Deno but their ecosystem is doomed. I mean all I need is Redis and it doesn't work the way supposed to.
I installed Fig about a year ago, it was not working on my machine and I remember I was getting spammed for no reason until I hit that unsubscribe button.
I don't trust Docker and never will, it's better to just download the official binary and install the Daemon into a Linux VM then configure it using docker context.
MacBook Pro M1 owner here. Scrolling is lagging like I'm on a $300 laptop. This is a ridiculous behavior for a high end laptop like this. I seriously don't know what to say, it's frustrating.
GTK is an excellent, innovative tool for those who haven't tried creating GUIs with HTML/CSS (Electron), Android Studio, or SwiftUI.
Every time I try creating something with GTK, I always end up cursing programmers who built it.
What's wrong with Electron? Etcher is a tool with 5 minutes maximum running time, it's not Slack where you have to run on background for hours. Also size is irrelevant these days, you can download a 150 mb file in 2 seconds.
Is there any alternative to ProtonMail that respects its users? I'm using PM for about 4 years now and I'm seriously considering switching to anything else.
"All Nihilists are focused only on their own existence because they fail to see reality"
That's the most dumb thing I ever heard since the last conversation I had few days ago about asexuality. It's equivalent to the same argument I heard which was "people are asexuals because they don't have sex more often" or "you're straight because you didn't tried anything else besides that".
Mobile carriers gets hacked day by day. At least in western countries it's considered a scandal compared corrupted countries like those in Eastern Europe for example, where they get hacked and it's covered up quickly using political influence. (I'm not going to name those countries, some users may get offended.)
