That's actually shocking. I've been in tech for 15+ years and have a good income. I've only recently purchased a new car instead of used, and with a monthly payment right by my state's average. Prior to this I never had a payment more than $250/mo.

This is a big problem I have with "just works". Everyone is used to services only allowing a single password. I know the answer to this, but it's not clear in the marketing or how it's explained to normie end-users: Won't creating a passkey erase my password? How do you sign in on another device? Won't that change the passkey and lock me out from the first device?

I don't disagree with this take. But I'm not going to risk installing a package uploaded 1 hour ago considering all of the compromises this year. I think a cooldown period is prudent to let the automated security scanners to do their thing.

Personally I'm more worried about a US provider/model censoring for BS reasons than Chinese ones. Biology 101 is too dangerous for Anthropic. If I want an AI to scrutinize the CCP for Tiananmen Square, Taiwan or Tibet because I'm bored, I'll use a US or heretic model.

Your data isn't safe from exfiltration no matter who the host is. You should host the models locally if your data is truly sensitive.

I'm been running Jellyfin in a container as well for 4 years. I stream to a couple Roku devices. The only problem I've encountered is Roku doesn't support DVDSUB and Jellyfin recently added automatic overlaying of DVDSUB server-side which drastically slows down seeking on Roku.

So that's why OpenCode likes to randomly remove my comments.
