In a thread where folks are discussing how they like/dislike how companies shutter their forums in favor of Discord, you then see how Discord themselves use a more traditional thread based tool to manage their own support site rather than using Discord itself.

What are people's thoughts on if this is staged?

Considering the views / subscriptions are the main motivation here, it might justify the expenses poured into this project – that is, it would be quite a waste if all that effort went into the build just to have no one actually take it off the porch.

If actors were used, it would explain the lack of police involvement (it's easy to say, "police weren't interested" ).

An obvious consequence of it being a production without disclosure is the copycats that this will spawn.

Edit: just to add a bit more food-for-thought in response to comments such as, "why do that to your own car?" or "why get sprayed with fart spray": what makes you believe it's their own car (could be a beater picked up for a few hundred dollars) or that the fart spray actually smells?

I don't think you're making a very compelling justification for bicycling on sidewalks.

Your statistic regarding UK pedestrians being killed/hit vs bicyclists being killed/hit isn't strong as it's probable that nowhere near as many bicyclists choose to ride on the sidewalk as compared to staying in bike lanes and roads. That is, if more bicyclists opted to ride on sidewalks, the incident rate would certainly increase.

Additionally, rationalizing this in terms of the risk towards the bicyclist just comes off as selfish: "I'm not comfortable with the risk I'm facing while bicycling on the roads, therefore I will put pedestrians at risk instead."

Perhaps instead of endangering pedestrians, something more constructive would be to engage politically to improve the situation (maybe you do this already, if so, awesome!).

The main difference is that, while you have already been able to change the menu bar and dock to a dark color scheme, the update coming in Mojave allows the window chrome to be dark too (note Finder being dark in the article).

I agree in that this doesn't really take conscious thought anymore. However, the article had the following:

It looks like a lot of us don't have (never had?) trouble accepting a statement like `a = a + 1` and, upon stepping back, thought maybe it had to do with our internal dialog (which is now probably intuition as we've been processing statements like this for so long).
