Unitary Foundation | Full-Stack Web Developer (Data visualization) | Open-source | Full-time | Remote (EU/NA timezones) | https://unitary.foundation/

EDIT: the position is now closed.

----

We're a quantum computing non-profit organization, and we are looking for a full-stack web developer.

The job is classical — mostly building web portals — but those portals open into the quantum world.

Quantum computing knowledge is a plus, but not required. The initial project is a platform to understand the trajectory of quantum computing. The focus is on data visualization, so strong skills in that area are preferred. The candidate will work mostly alongside quantum engineers and researchers, so ownership to work independently on the classical side of things is important.

The stack of the main web project is PERN, but the organization maintains other projects in Python.

The states you get are H(|0>)=|0>+|1> and H(|1>)=|0>-|1>, both of which have 50% probablity to end up as 0 or 1 once they are measured. The difference of the "-" in the second state is only visible if you carry on the computation, not if you measure.

This update is actually a big deal. The algorithm runs in subexponential time, but not quasipolynomial time after all.

I usually come to HN to read articles that are the opposite of this one. I don't care who wrote this, I don't care who David Chang is, I come to HN to find facts, data, and rationality. I like the word fucking to emphasize something but I fucking hate reductio ad fuckingum arguments.

Bending Spoons | Milan (Italy) | Software Engineer/QA Tester | http://www.bendingspoons.com | Full time, Visa, Onsite

Bending Spoons is a fast-growing tech company focused on building and marketing mobile applications. We think, create, and market our own apps. We're young (3 years of activity, average age 27 years old), but we've achieved explosive growth: the apps that we've invented, developed, and published have been downloaded more than 40 million times, and millions of people use them every week. We are currently looking for a QA Tester and for exceptional Software Engineers to join our team of backend and iOS engineers. Our backend stack consists for the most part of Python, node.js, MongoDB, and Redis. Our iOS work is every bit as extensive and challenging as the backend one, if not more.

We pursue extreme flexibility, and this requires everyone to be able to morph and adapt to new roles as needed. Hence, you may be exposed to a number of other areas, such as App Store and data analysis, UX and UI design, and several more. We’ll teach you what you don’t know, as long as you’re eager to learn it.
