Sounds like you're on the right path. Nothing to be ashamed. Although you do get that feeling when you're not "changing the world" . But if you're helping people in reality you are changing their world for the better.

I wonder how much they value the "Dropbox" brand name at. If you think sharing a file online you're probably thinking Dropbox.

I'm just starting on my journey with products and Nathan's produced so much content that I can look to for advice. I couldn't imagine the difficulty without having those available.

I'm not sure. I think the designer programmer relationship needs to change. The designer must understand the programmer is going to have to do some "interpretation" of the original design. It's not going to look exactly the same.
