What a ridiculus click-bait headline... Let's just imagine for a second that at the event tomorrow, Elon demos a toaster instead of anything FSD related. The stock would drop for a bit, but nothing else fundamental about the business would change and the business is still a cash generating juggernaught.
I can't wait until we have personal AIs to read and filter this drivel for us to the point that it becomes useless to post it!
I'm actually more interested in doing this at the larger macro scale than the micro scale. Imagine the ability to lift heavy objects with only sound. Weight rooms would look entirely different :)
Vexcel doesn’t use drones. They use manned aircraft. Drones are almost never used for insurance. There are a couple of companies that do, but the costs are still too high for it to make sense.
Did they change something? Because I know of a company that is currently being audited and was told that if one employee of the company installed the Oracle JDK, the company needed to pay a license fee for every employee including janitorial staff
That's awesome! My first memory of PhpBB was using it for a developer job board in Utah and adding a VoiceXML script to it so folks could call a number and have the jobs read out to them - circa 2001-2002?
I made a risky bet in 2019 on GBTC that luckily paid off, but I was 100% willing to lose everything... I keep wanting to try it, but I'd need to be nuts post FTX...
I'd use shell scripts... Bash is the only way to ensure stability and backwards compatibly so that aliens can see the "public (yet commercially private) town square".
Funny I built this same thing (ours was SMS only) with someone I met on HN a decade ago and we even used the same landing page technique you have here... Swapping out the key word. I hope you have better luck marketing it that we did - you're off to a good start getting promoted on HN!
That would be an interesting way to solve this type of problem: make the payment processor pay interest on money withheld. Even at a low interest rate, it would hopefully incentivize them to figure out better ways of handling the risk. Are there any US legislators on HN?
I just looked through quickly, but it appeared that the segment with the most companies in the list is insurance... I guess Warren Buffet is still right...
Sort of, but on accident. He expected the command he entered to trigger the Easter egg and print Microsoft 10 times, but on the PET, they had removed the Easter egg.
Simple business "ideas" like cleaning, plumbing, roofing, siding, etc. that a million other people are doing can all be built into 6 or 7 figure businesses through solid execution.
What does the US government or the UN already spend on world hunger initiatives? I would expect that it is many times 2% of Elon Musk's wealth, but maybe I'm wrong.
