Having my main pair of prescription glasses, covered by insurance, also be my Bluetooth headset is super useful.

The camera feature is also really nice for a lot of non-creepy use cases. From translating signs and plaques in front of me w/o pulling out my phone, to taking 1st person videos on amusement park rides, to photos of my son without having to view the world through my phone waiting for just the right shot.

Heck video calls with Grandma where I can chase my son around the house and let Grandma see everything, or when we read books together over video chat.

Meta glasses are great for parents, kids do all sorts of wacky things and I don't want to be one of those parents always waiting with my phone out so I can capture the perfect picture.

Counter point - driving down the beach in a convertible with good tunes blasting and the sea breeze in your hair is fun.

Like yeah it sucks for everyone listening, but if every other car is blasting tunes it isn't out of place. Some beach drives are known for this, right place at the right time.

When I visited Floria Keys I sure as shit rented a convertible and played bass thumping EDM as I drove over the ocean. Hell I think I may have even been wearing Ray-Bans.

Chatgpt is so damn good for cooking it is unbelievable. It will learn your family's tastes over time, you can tell it what pantry staples you keep is stock, and you can take any recipe you find online and ask for stuff like "find a way to make this preparable in 45 minutes instead of 2 hours, what trade offs will I be making?"

Long ago in Seattle there was a network of BBSs and the head board was called Rat City. They had a lot of work by local artists (mostly tracker files and digital artwork IIRC).

Having growth up in the 90s, it is weird seeing companies share their technology secrets publicly.

For the stims, I've found that most doctors titrate up the dose way to fast.

For example for methylphenidate, I'd recommend starting on 2.5mg (1/2 the smallest pill) for a week or two, until side effects go away, and then up the dose to 5mg.

Hah! Yeah I also live on a neighborhood greenway street with a traffic circle in Seattle and the odd stop sign layout. It confused me for a year until I learned about the greenway program.

Seattle has plenty of traffic circles just laying around that predate the greenway program though.

I almost never see Seattle drivers blow through stop signs though, maybe people in my neighborhood are just more chill? :D

America just ended a nearly 2 decade experience of failing to teach kids how to read English due to a NZ teacher scamming the English speaking world.

So doing better than that isn't too hard.

The majority of drivers don't know the signaling rules for roundabouts so the end result is no one uses signals on them for anything and this you never know what people are going to do next when they are in one.

All in all they end up being rather unpleasant to use through no fault of their own.

They exist so people cannot run through the stop sign. Their only connection to a round about is the shape.
