A few things:

- the first two were conducted while we were in the thick of the pandemic and loathe to be near anyone outside of our pod. WFH made sense then, and I’m sure people were more comfortable knowing they wouldn’t get Covid WFH

- the third was in 2023 when the world opened up, but studied call center operators. Yes, I can see how they would be more productive at home. However, imho any position that requires collaboration and many interactions between staff is more productive in the office and this study doesn’t address that.

My mom has a mobile flip phone that was “designed for the elderly”. Big buttons, big labels, etc. The “Volume Down” button is also giant and is on the side. It’s also strategically located so every time she picks up the phone, tightly gripped, she unknowingly turns the ringer volume all the way down. Sigh…

Yeah, but (I think?) be default they make the same notification sound as everything else and don’t vibrate. I need something else to distinguish them other than appearing differently on the Lock Screen. My phone is usually in my pocket.

It would also be nice if you could snooze them.

At this point if I really want to be alerted (leave now or you miss the train, etc) I set an alarm. But you can’t really do that any sooner than the day you want to be alerted because alarms don’t have dates (technically you can sort of do it with alarms on specific days of the week).

At least on iOS, I think calendar reminders (both native and gcal) are fundamentally broken. Their notifications easily get lost in a sea of other notifications and are easily missed.
