I don't do the 4-5 interview thing any more either. If you cannot make a determination in 1 or 2 interviews in person - in combination with my work history and references then you are wasting my time and yours.

After working at a startup for a few years (that failed) I have been trying to find the right fit in this market, but sadly have not been able to find the right team/energy/culture fit. Lacking that I believe that WFH would be the next best thing.
I am comfortable from most OSs - my home office currently sports a Dell running Windows 10, a 2012 MacBook Pro, and a homebrew Linux box running Kubuntu 18.04.
I am in the process of leaving a very decently compensated position at one of the better places to work in my market specifically because they have converted us to "open office". Maybe it would have been different if they were this way to start with, but going from a small cubicle to absolutely no separation between myself and all of the devs surrounding me is getting untenable for myself.
Having my headphones on constantly is annoying and I cannot seem to tune out all of the ancillary motion around me. It also doesn't help that the monitors are now so much closer to my face that I now find myself turning my head back and forth more to see my monitors and by the end of the day my eyes are tired.
Internal politics.
I hate them, refuse to play along, and the moment I can no longer keep the drama at least a meter away from me I start talking to recruiters.

IMHO, keep on the path you are on until you are really comfortable with Angular, then learn React as well.
I went the opposite direction - put up a large React/Redux codebase and now have moved on to a position that requires Angular. There is no harm in knowing more than one framework, I find that both will get the job done.

For me, it is. Some of the main points that makes it worth money to me are the plugin ecosystem is huge, the editor is fast, its layout management (panes in columns/rows) is incredible, and it was the first editor I had that gave me multi-cursors. I like where VS Code is going and I try to use it when I can, but most of the keybindings and shortcuts I have memorized are for Sublime and IntelliJ based IDEs.
