Your experience is not at all what I see out there. Most people I know only get new phones because their battery will no longer get them through the day. They hate having to set up a new phone when their old one is totally fine other than the battery.

For the people I know that do upgrade their phones regularly, they typically want to give their old phone to someone who would love a usable phone, but can't afford a new one. Giving a phone with a shot and non-replaceable battery effectively destroys the value of the gift.

I know many people who can't afford to by new, and they avoid buying older or used phones because they fear the battery may be shot.

We obviously have different opinions regarding what most people want... totally fine.

They do allow ssh via a web browser. It may be a "beta" feature, but it doesn't require the client to run anything.

Do you (or does anyone) know about how zoomed in the video is at the start? Like is that the milky way and are there some things in that starting frame that I could identify with the naked eye?

It seems like it is already quite zoomed in to start with, but I can't tell how much.

If you wear glasses I suggest trying both with and without your glasses on while moving your head. For me, there is almost no effect without my glasses on. But with glasses, it is quite strong... but I'm not even sure if what I'm seeing when I have my glasses on is actually the intended effect. I've become used to that effect with blue and red light moving in opposite directions relative to each other when I move my head.

As someone said in a another comment:

That's what I thought as well... But I think what the diagram isn't showing is that the drops are actually moving horizontally to the left at the speed that the jug was moving at the time the drop left the jug. This means each one is moving to the left slightly faster than the one before it... And as they fall this creates an increasing horizontal distance between them... The line is kept at a constant angle due to the fact that the earlier drops are falling downward slightly faster than the later drops. The horizontal and vertical difference between the adjacent drops maintains a 1 to 1 ratio.

The return, for some people, will be more than the just the money though (because they'll attribute some value to the green aspect). For them it doesn't necessarily have to beat the SP500. The sum of the money earned and their perceived green value will likely have to exceed it, I agree.

Very cool concept, I can see a lot of people being interested in this. The site does a good job of simplifying things to make it very accessible as well. After poking around in the FAQ, I don't see anything about selling your investment if you want out. Once you "purchase" some panels/shares, how and where do you sell them? And how is the price of that sale determined? Look forward to learning more about this.

I would assume the parent was referring to the example used in the article where the husband is in the first ring out and the wife is in the middle. I don't they were suggesting anything about gender... just wondering if perhaps that first ring should be allowed to dump into the center.

It seems they could have been designed as an attempt to guide, trap and pool lava that might otherwise flow toward settlements or other things of value. Didn't see that hypothesis in the article. Not sure how effective it would have been... But if your elders told stories of villages being wiped out by lava, you would probably try to do something to stop it.

Hey, I have a Sony. it supports being turned on and to the correct input by a Chromecast using HDMI-CEC. I think, like the other guy said, there may be a setting to enable it on your Samsung. I know someone with a Samsung that it works for (the turning on works for sure, not sure about the changing input and turning off). It may be called something different in your tv settings though... I'm sure you can google it. Good luck!

I used a raspberry pi to control my TV using HDMI-CEC and exposed a subset of the controls through a web API allowing me to turn on/off my TV from my phone or voice controlled from a google home.

I did this because a chromecast will turn on my TV and set it to the correct input, but it wouldn't turn off the TV. Turning the TV off was the only reason I needed to touch my remote control at all. But just recently google added the turning off functionality to chromecasts... so I guess my little project fade away.

I think he claims to have one already and he wants to verify that it is hers... By a DNA match or something.

I'm curious, which phone is more popular?
