How does ransomware attack work if the company host all of their service in the cloud (aws/gcloud/etc.)? Based on some preliminary readings, it seems like ransomware attack is mostly conducted on a physical machine. If your service data is all stored in the cloud and not synced with any of the machines owned by your employees, are you still subject to this type of attack?

One thing platform engineer should do is to rotate into app engineer role and experience it for a couple month at least, without doing it you don't really understand all the pains the app engineers are suffering due to platform design. At very least you can make your doc so much better by knowing which part you absolutely want to cover in details.

This is especially true for Android platform team, to be honest.

He is not talking about a "programming language", he is talking about "programming language tooling". So yes, compile time is an valid and interesting aspect to judge a programming language tooling ever since the beginning.

Stryd is a multidisciplinary team that is enthusiastic about the future of wearable technology for athletes. Out of this passion, we've developed the world’s first wearable power meter for runners that provides insight into their running technique and performance.

For the iOS development, we use Swift primarily. But we want you to have deep understanding of Objective-C and the best practices of iOS programming. Good sense of design is bonus. We also want you to be an endurance runner, or a triathlete, or at least to have the passion about running.

Relocating to Boulder during the internship is required. But you know what? If you like running, this is pretty much your dream place. You get tons of opportunities to run and train with LOTS of elite athletes who are Stryd ambassadors here.

Toolkit 11 years ago

I hate heavy and opinionated frontend framework like bootstrap. I have been using Pure css and plain css/js/html to do some prototype and really enjoyed the process, and the only concern is I'm not great at design, so all the prototypes I did don't feel like modern and slick.

I started trying Web Starter Kit[1] recently and really like it, it's light with principle of "don't get in your way", it has very fine default design feeling yet still allow you to easily customize the look and feel.

Toolkit looks like it's even lightweight and share the similar "minimal" principle, I will give it a try and see if it provides enough out of box, and I hope to see more of this kind of light yet modern frontend framework.

We're looking to expand our still small engineering team of only 3 people. We're looking for:

#1 Lead iOS Developer. We use Swift. But we want you to have deep understanding of Objective-C and iOS programming best practices. Good sense of design is bonus.

#2 Firmware Developer. You need to have knowledge of microcontroller-based firmware design and development. Experience with relevant technologies, such as BLE, hardware debugging, analog and digital sensors, ultra low power / ultra small footprint software design. Strong skill in C. Good in assembly is big bonus.

#3 Full Stack Engineer(Intern or Part-time, REMOTE is OK). You need to be Strong multi-lingual developer, interested in writing code using technologies like JavaScript/CSS, Go, and Python.

For #1 and #2 relocate to Boulder is required. But you know what? If you like running/triathlon, this is your dream place. You get unlimited opportunities to run and train with LOTS of elite athletes who are Stryd ambassadors here.
