I live nearby Bagneux, one of the cities mentioned in the article. People who are living near the drilling location are complaining a lot due to the noise and vibrations. It seems the drilling has to be performed continuously (24/7) so it's impossible to sleep or even live quietly. The company is paying hotel nights for many inhabitants.

It reminds me the "Temperature Maps" by Sho Sengoku in backgammon [1]. For a given move, it syntheses the equities (somehow probability of winning) for each possible dice roll of the opponent on next turn. It allows among other thing to see how dependent of luck you be after a move (by looking at the contrast between squares).

I am not sure why, but this week I happened along Ada again (cannot remember why) and also stumbled upon AdaCore.

It can be because AdaCore was the main sponsor of the ERTS² Congress in Toulouse, France last week. ERTS² (Embedded Real Time Software and Systems)is one of the most important congress in Europe about embedded.

Ada have the image of an old language but with the last revision in 2012, it's a modern tool [2].
