I spent six weeks in London for a college exchange class the summer of 1990 and discovered Banks and the Culture; I believe it was Consider Phlebas. One of the best parts of that summer. I remember the delays in releases of books once back in the US was agonizing.

Fuck cancer.

The Android app STILL does not provide automatic upload. That is the only thing I want or need from the Android app - I backup images I take on my phone, and make public the few that I want to share. So now I use Google+. But I have years of photos on Flickr, so I'd still like to switch back.

I really don't understand why it's missing.

I'm fascinated they had a series of announcements that indicated specific points in the landing sequence that were not publicly known, before they actually announced the landing, which had happened 10 seconds earlier.

Agreed. I paid a buck for HaxSync to get sync working on ICS, looks like it wasn't able to overwrite the email addresses I had for people. I just disabled contact sync for HaxSync and Facebook (in case they actually decide to get it working with ICS)

Why would people bother with reverse engineering their proprietary (and expensive) system, when you could go ahead and spend the time improving the fully open systems that are out there?

It's even worse than that. You would specifically be one of the minions analyzing code that you can claim infringes IV patents.

Doing the devil's work indeed.

Nice straw, man.

Thinking that a progressive tax system is a good idea has nothing to do with being jealous and covetous of those who make more than you. If you disagree with a progressive tax system go right ahead and support your case, but you're not going to do that with bs arguments nobody is making.
