Per the article, I am considering turning it into a social/sharing platform, where the content is user-defined lists of things. Thoughts on that?

I created a little tool that helps you made lists of things with defined properties. For example, I can use it to make a list of houses I am thinking to buy, and also a list of my favorite movies. Thanks for the feedback :) The date type is on my to-do list, along with the appropriate views (like a timeline and a calendar). That'll make it easy to list historical events... or upcoming dates, etc.

Excellent points. Most people confuse macroeconomics with microeconomics. You cannot apply the principles of personal finance to a national economy.

Move as quickly as possible while maintaining a high level of accuracy/quality. Some people underestimate themselves, moving too slowly!

Businesses can't just raise prices and get more revenue. Right, businesses gauge how much consumers are willing to pay. If minimum wages go up and businesses raise prices while citing said minimum wage increases, consumers will likely be willing to pay the higher prices. Consumers generally won't tolerate price increases that are not justified. Those increases that are justified are more readily accepted. This is why I think businesses can and will pass higher minimum wage costs down to the consumer, successfully.

This assumes that the economy is perfect, which is far from the truth. Prices are not already as high as they can be. Such a thing is meaningless in economics.

As long as these rookies aren't writing nuclear reactor firmware, who cares? Most of programming is mundane. Have them make CRUD apps while we experts work on something interesting ;)

I'd recommend putting some time into learning how to change your body composition, improve your fitness, and control your mood. Better physiology improves all other aspects of one's life. Also practical psychology (why people do what they do, etc) is helpful. After that, learn how to create software.

I don't believe that raising the minimum wage will trigger businesses to cut jobs significantly. They will probably pass the higher cost onto the consumer. Ultimately, it's a method of wealth redistribution, which is sorely needed in our economy.

I agree. It's a daunting challenge. My vision for App Factory is for it to make custom apps of low to medium complexity, for individuals and small/medium businesses. So probably nothing enterprise-level. For personal apps, think... Travel Adventure Log, House Shopping List, Stamp Collection. For business apps, think... Golf Course Management, Research Log, Request/Approval System. The possibilities are many.

If you're thinking... I can do all this with a spreadsheet, consider this. A house shopping app. Sure, it can be done with a spreadsheet. But wouldn't it be more intuitive to have an orderable list of houses with an image, a mini Google Map with it's location, and details that are important to your decision making? Making a simple app like that would be trivial with App Factory. It might take you 15 minutes to slap together a blueprint to do that. Then spin up an instance of the app, and you're good to go. All through a web interface.

I guess you could have said the same thing about websites 5-10 years ago. Why would anyone bother wanting to make their own website, when there are so many web designers out there, who work for cheap?
