I think they mean save 25x regardless of how long it takes to do so.
About two per day.
Thanks! First thing I did this morning was re-calibrate my monitors...didn't realize there was a rebrand. Whoops :)
If you're hiring #1s to build SPAs, when all you need is some static pages, you'd also be lighting money on fire.
I once interviewed at a place that had "no managers' yet kept referring to the "MGMT" team. Made me laugh.
"this is not a 9 to 5 shop" - this just gave me flashbacks.
If you're looking for a career coach I recommend Andi Fenster: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andifenster/
Yes, several times. Sometimes opportunities feel like liabilities.
Thank you for the link.
Thanks for the update. Am I understanding the ACH payment flow correctly:
1) Send a user an invoice
2) The user copies the auto-generated bank details and manually initiates a transfer from their bank?
I have a Stripe account with several sub-accounts (different apps). If I create an additional sub-account, will it be subject to the new fees?
It was a (failed) charge.
Looks buggy to me. I created a test invoice and specified that it should be payable at a later date and only via ACH.
I checked the preview link and the only option to pay was by credit card. I sent the invoice anyway and the test user's credit card was immediately charged.
I think this is tough for both sides.
I work with early stage companies, and those companies don't always exist a year. I've also worked with companies (for multiple years) that were bought & sold a few times, so two employment stints can easily look like five.
So the developers hand over the code and then ask for payment? Doesn't that usually happen the other way around?
Not only would the ideal candidate have the above experience, they would also have to be able to pass whatever interview process they have lined up.
When a company wants such a broad skillset/range of experience, how would they interview for it?
Unrelated edit: I looked up the job post, and one of the listed benefits is "2 weeks paid vacation". Personally I would need more time off to decompress from constantly being pulled in different directions.
I would suggest finding a forum that your target audience visits. If they respond well to your idea they might just turn into your first few customers.
I hit a ceiling working remotely at a previous company. They flat out said they wouldn't advance me any further as the sole remote employee. I had 5 managers in 3 years in that same company—I think eventually everyone who knew my track record left the company, so there was no one in the office to vouch for me.
I prefer "2006 – 2009", but with a thin space.
Could you expand on "hours candidate can really-work"?
In the recession you would sell your $100k house for $50k, but you would still owe the bank the remainder of your mortgage.
You've mentioned several ways to reduce the number of candidates that you consider for each role, but I don't see how any of it leads to better quality hires.
I've seen groups of 5-6 roommates looking at 1 bedrooms in Brooklyn.
A lot of interviews these days seem to value CS skills over professional experience. Are you planning on switching jobs anytime soon?
How is that obvious - It's possible to both use Stripe and store the credit card details (even though you're not supposed to).
I think it's intended to be the same thing as "bro culture"...
How did the engineers who designed that process get hired? What was wrong with the process that landed you your existing team?
Lastly...why are the engineers coming up with the hiring process anyway? Is this common in other professions?
As someone who has interviewed hundreds it would actually make me resent you because if you can't show the initiative or take the responsibility to improve yourself
How do they know what to improve if you won't tell them what needs improvement (in your eyes)?
As far as I know showing different content to different visitors (google bot vs. users) is penalizable.
