Hard to read between the lines in these releeases.
Big Data is certainly in the trough of disillusionment, it feels like mostly vaporware. Although the visualization tools are pretty neat.
Considering we don't hear about problems that often, this is quite an impressive feat of engineering. You really don't think about it until we get a hiccup and half the Internet goes down.
But how much data are they collecting that we DON'T know about?

This is an important point. These types of articles imply that he's running the company as an ego trip instead of a heavily-invested individual shareholder. Very key to keep in mind.
