The Pro subscription to the API now seems to be $5000 per month!
My current project is TrendBowl (https://www.trendbowl.app) which summarises trending entities across multiple sources on the web, including Mastodon and Wikipedia. On a 24 hour basis you can see which terms are relevant in different languages and sites.
It is implemented in Go, Python and JS, with support from Postgres, TimescaleDB and Kubernetes.
Someone should make a collection of the various visualization web projects that crop up here from time to time.

I mainly used svg.js which animates SVG as part of an HTML5 document. Other than that the site is static with a lot of custom JS.
Is this going to be world-wide or US-only? The former will probably mean a lot of legal hassle, but it would be nice to be able to participate from elsewhere in the world...
Why don't you weight votes by age of the account? That would make the "old HN" more influential in the current one.

The "best match" ranking does not take time into account, but if you choose "newest first" that is the main criterion.
ok, that results page really is messy. The crawler does actually do language detection, but it isn't perfect. Soto currently only offers search in English actually.
Well to be honest we currently lack distinctive features, we're hoping to learn what users want and add that in the coming weeks...
Thanks for the feedback. To answer some of your questions, soto searches within blogs, using the existence of syndication feeds as the criterion. We are currently still growing the base of blogs so naturally not all are included. I'll make sure to add some documentation.

I think the opening is a statement about how the art is taken out of the modern simpsons by the way they are produced. The links in the opening are the asian workers and the sadness in their depiction. This fits with banksys regular theme about the value of art and its opposition to commerce. Subtle enough?

That's what I thought too. But then again, if they had the people to get that interface right, why haven't they done so before? The idea is not so far out, they simply don't compromise of ease and simplicity... like all good products.
This guide comes too late for me! When I visited the area while travelling through cali 8 years ago I couldn't find a hint of SV... but Stanford's campus is great.
The one I would want to build even if I can't earn anything with it and could only use it myself. Once that one was determined to be commercially viable.
