It might be coming soon... they've rolled out this terrible screen saver functionality to premium users (sans ads for now).

I did this as well and have liked it for the most part, but would also recommend using an older, established TLD.

I went with `.email` because... it just seemed fitting at the time and it's been depressing how many sites won't allow it because it's "not a valid domain". Or worse, I've been able to register an account successfully only to be blocked by the login form which uses a different validation configuration (looking at you, REI).

All of these aren't quite the same though. Charging to use hardware that is already present in a vehicle and contained to that vehicle (heated seats) is not the same as charging to use an app that requires a network of hardware behind the scenes to start a vehicle remotely.

The latter has continuing costs and it's foolish to believe that would be free forever. Should you be _forced_ to pay this? No. But that's a different problem.

Command & Conquer (RA2 Yuri's Revenge or Generals style play) + FPS where I start the game in RTS mode and at any time I can click and "assume" a unit on the ground where I'm dropped into an FPS version of the map I was just viewing. If I die, I resume the commander role. Or if at any time I want to command again, AI takes the unit back over and it either stops or resumes doing whatever it was doing before.

I guess Renegade might be what FPS looks like, but I'm unaware of a game that combines both.

One I remember was GroupHug or similar name. There were numerous IRC bots at the time that would post stories/confessions from it.

Most of the spam I receive these days comes from DNS registry contact info. I always select the domain privacy option when possible, but certain TLDs like .us do not allow this option.

I’ve been using unique addresses for almost everything for several years now and I don’t get nearly as much spam as I anticipated when I first set it up. There’s one app I used years ago with a custom address and still get consistent spam from different people… I always wonder if the data was sold or stolen.

It is a bit humorous when a sales person asks for an email address and I give them something like theircompanyname@mydomain.com and they’re unsure if I’m openly blowing them off or that’s my actual address.

I've found k3s (https://k3s.io/) to be extremely easy to use for setting up and running kubernetes on a group of Raspberry Pis. Specifically, I followed this guide to get my clusters up and running quickly and it's worked out pretty well: https://blog.alexellis.io/test-drive-k3s-on-raspberry-pi/

Wow I haven't been confident in buying electronics or anything with a battery on Amazon for a while - now I guess I'll add books to the list. Lately even buying the same brand of toilet paper has resulted in differing qualities each time.

Amazon is becoming less reputable than eBay at this point... at least with eBay, the seller has individual ratings and is not hidden behind whatever brand of product they are selling.

Even if there's only one mention of it in the article, I'm glad they included it: alpha-gal syndrome. Not a ton of people seem to know about it and yet I continue to meet more and more people that are affected by it.

For those unaware, it causes a person to develop an allergy to red meat and there's currently no treatment for it other than to wait. Granted, it's not as serious as Lyme Disease, I hope it gets to be well known so there's increased chances of finding a cure for it.

- 1x Raspberry Pi (older, not sure exact model) - exposed to the internet and acts as a bastion host for ssh'ing into other devices on my home network

- 1x Raspberry Pi Zero W - monitors several Wemo Insight Switches around the house and turns them on if they are in an off state (if the power goes out, the Wemo switches do not turn back on so I have to do it manually)

- 6x Raspberry Pi 3 Model B - running in a k8s cluster (1 master, 5 workers) doing nothing until I can find time to continue working on this project... found out I need to build Docker images on an ARM host so my CI/CD first choice did not work :(

I'm the same way though I have a 5.0 -- but it's because I don't want to lose it! However, I feel as if I'd care less once my score is no longer "perfect"... It's a similar game to me as working on/keeping credit scores at an ideal number.

I'd take some of it with a grain of salt. He brought up one point about peeling paint and requiring special hangars. But outside of the RT article he linked to, I can't find mention of that elsewhere. I didn't look into all of his points, but that one struck as me a little ridiculous even for this flying bucket of crap... which makes me question some of his other tweets in that stream.

Once Amazon started charging sales tax in my state, it was a no brainer to go to Best Buy first.

- Same price (or sometimes less)

- No waiting on delivery

- High confidence that I'm getting a genuine product

For me, it's the last point that's most important...especially with more expensive electronics purchases.

Though at a previous job, I got on the elevator one day to hear a telemarketer's voice coming from the emergency speaker. I'm guessing it happens, but just very rarely?

I lock my computer habitually even if I'm just walking over to a co-workers desk. I find it funny though, because I was forced into this habit from my days in school where leaving your computer open/unlocked meant coming back to all sorts of pranks.

Someone may choose to not buy a car after test driving it and experiencing the laggy touchscreen...or after reading reviews by people who did already buy the car.

Just staying properly hydrated.

It sounds like abnormal behavior and could probably be fixed.

As to your question, I'd recommend the Surface Book. I got one last December and couldn't be more pleased with it. Hi-res screen, good RAM + HD space, fast processor, keys feel nice to type on...the list goes on and on :)

I've given up on the NSA not reading my stuff.

This is a scary thought, and I realize I'm increasingly feeling the same way everyday.
