Our experience on memory usage, in comparison, has been generally positive.
Previously we had to use ProcessPoolExecutor which meant maintaining multiple copies of the runtime and shared data in memory and paying high IPC costs, being able to switch to ThreadPoolExecutor was hugely beneficially in terms of speed and memory.
It almost feels like programming in a modern (circa 1996) environment like Java.
Also trying to let the compilers know that the float* are aligned would be a good move.
auto aligned_p = std::assume_aligned<16>(p)
Initial example takes array pointers without the __restrict__ keyword/extension so compiler might assume they could be aliased to same address space and will code defensively.
Would be interesting to see if auto vec performs better with that addition.
They’d probably sucks at a challenge like that because they work on tokens and don’t really see individual letters.
There was a post here a little while back asking AI models to count the number of Rs in the word raspberry and most failed.

this is a fantastic idea, I know some of the game play needs working out but this would have been such a great resource to have in the first year of any CS or EE course.
Do it, the next person will thank you. If not immediately then within days of them learning F#.

To clarify, the aggressive tone is non-constructive, as in it detracts from the article. You're right he makes a constructive point but I bet a bunch of people don't bother reading that far.
Such aggressive tone, no need, very off putting and unconstructive. If I was considering employing the author and came across this article I'd be seriously put off despite the fact he clearly knows a thing or two.

I have plenty of space, it crashes after about 1 seconds of processing the movie.
Trying it out but it crashes each time I end a recording. (iPhone 5S, UK)

Followed Graeme's instructions and after about 30 mins spent building the latest Mono I was quickly able to get ASP.vNext up and running on OSX.
Found one small mistake in the instructions, the switch --feed should be --source in the kpm restore step.
Man! If you're doing C++ then you definitely want to get onto 2012/2013 ASAP, the improvements in tooling are amazing. "Navigate to.." alone is worth it.

Is it my under powered laptop or is the character very slow to move around? The graphics seem plenty smooth enough but the gameplay creeks along.
