I think you're absolutely right. I also think that trying to become a better person is an important part of living a full life. The work I put in during the hours I'm being paid are a part that life.

Thanks for the tip.
Howdy!
Sorry, I had an issue with the site being down earlier, so I threw up Cloudflare's bot detector. I'm sorry if that caused you trouble.
As for the back button hijacking, it is definitely unintentional, and I'll see if I can replicate that problem and fix it as soon as possible.
Should be good to go. Got a huge spike of traffic from China (according to Cloudflare) when this hit the front page. Odd…
Jeesh guys, if you don't care, why did you comment or read it?
I personally thought the post was quite interesting and I honestly felt a strong desire to subscribe. It's a shame they're shutting down.
In research that studies a large enough population there will always be outliers. Maybe you are one of them. Your counterexample does not prove them wrong.
Did you make money from it?
Ironically, this post reeks of Claude.
Generative AI hasn’t repealed this rule. It’s relocated it
You're right that version control is there to help, but it doesn't by itself stop you from pushing out broken code to production. That's the fear: landing bad code on user's machines.
That would be cool. Although your username is a little suspicious…
It should be accessible now.
I've addressed the issues. It should be usable now. I apologize to everyone who encountered an error page. Have a good weekend, everyone!
Not quite. Lots of articles don't mention AI in the title, even if that is their core subject.
Show me an embedding model that runs as fast as an optimized regex engine and I'll buy you a beer.
That should be fixed as soon as my server has a chance to catch up.
D1 hater right here.
Yes, it can. I am having a major cache invalidation problem. One of the major blights of programmers everywhere.
You know what's funny? Most of this site is exactly that. The _one_ time I do something dynamic…
Hopefully fixed the cache invalidation. I'm crossing my fingers.
I would argue that in a small way, this post _is_ about AI, so it wouldn't be a false positive.
Yep. My single core Proxmox machine sitting in my living room with horrible cache invalidation is struggling.
It's not an LLM.
Why use big program when regex do trick?
Our AI overlords don't want an AI-free Hacker News
yep. standby
I find any and all claims like this ridiculous from a company who can't build a terminal application that uses less than a gigabyte of RAM.
You're assuming the economics will ever make sense. Remember what happened to WeWork?
Sure, but how often do they rebalance the fund?
THANK YOU. Everyone complaining about index inclusion in passive funds have clearly forgotten to read their respective prospectuses.
The ultra wealthy are going to be heavily overrepresented in the active basket.
Do you have evidence to substantiate this claim? My brief research has shown the wealthier the investor, the likelier they are to use a passive strategy.
Sure. The problem is that it is impossible to predict which companies will continue to be profitable.
