It's so capable at some things, and others are garbage. I uploaded a photo of some words for a spelling bee and asked it to quiz my kid on the words. The first word it asked, wasn't on the list. After multiple attempts to get it to start asking only the words in the uploaded pic, it did, and then would get the spellings wrong in the Q&A. I gave up.

How do you implement the same thing on Android?
It looks like there are spacers that might fill in different gaps depending on a case - the whole usb plug looks a bit long to suit different cases
Will you offer this without a subscription fee? I like it but for this it should just be a small voice model running on device, not cloud - especially given you don't use APIs. I think you'll get a lot of adoption if it doesn't have a subscription or cloud requirement.
I can also guarantee you points 2 & 3 are pretty wrong as well. Funny (and also sad) how different peoples realities can be. I have been worn out sitting on both sides of the table to tell you the truth. (One thing I will say is that within VC, the vast majority of the folks actually doing the work are sympathetic and helpful to companies, working with early/senior employees, but it gets lost up the food chain so to speak and there's usually just one or two people making decisions at the end of the day about a particular deal or a whole portfolio- and these people are generally very self-interested.)
On one hand, some of these results are impressive; on the other, the illegal moves count is alarming - it suggests no reasoning ability as there should never be an illegal move? I mean, how could a violation of a fairly basic game (from a rules perspective) be acceptable in assigning any 'outcome' to a model other than failure?

For what it's worth, thats not accurate - a spectrograph was used in 1995 to discover the first exoplanet by Mayor and Queloz, and they received a Nobel prize for this. So GPT is right. One can be pedantic and say that not an "image" but most would disagree.
Here's the thing... so many jobs are bullshit. So many things people are paid to write, presentations made, etc. are bullshit. I'm not judging the bullshit per se. There's good bullshit and bad, necessary bullshit and not. But yeah, when you accept this reality, AI is sort of perfect for the bullshit that exists in our lives.

I don't get the Saab obsession. I can't speak to anything mechanical about them, but I've seen plenty and they look like many others on the road at that time. Like, what exactly is so aesthetically interesting? a different grille design? You could make the argument about many older cars - like the Nissan Fairlady/Z - but not really the Saab.

And not limited to customer support - think about partnerships and sales (while perhaps a smaller opportunity).... shared Slack channels can be such a pain.

This. As a former rower I'm biased, but also I have a C2 that sits around unused, mainly because as I've gotten older, I care less about the competitive/fitness optimization aspect of working out and more about fun.
Having tried several of the third party apps for C2, they've all suffered from 2 problems: pretty sub-par development/bugginess & wrong (or bad) content for the mass market. So much training oriented content and little on the fun/gamification side. I would pay $ for the right app, but not for a new rower. Ergatta is cool but again I wouldn't go out and buy one. When you think about the hundreds of thousands of C2s, it is a nice opportunity.

Off topic from the comment you replied to, but could you explain how Pixie is different from something like Crossplane? For some reason in my head that was the first comparison I made. Your blog post does hit on a major pain point for private cloud/on-prem deployments which is management & troubleshooting post-deployment. I'm looking for the best solutions for this problem so always like to hear what people recommend.

I'm excited about this quite a bit, but does YC have any experts on water & science/engineering in general? "lower-cost desalination plants, novel purification technologies" are technical science & engineering problems often closely tied to academia & research. Fortunately though there are some great resources in the Bay Area in these fields.

I can't imagine any reasonable company wanting to do business with Zenefits right now or even some time from now even if there is evidence they've improved and corrected things. Its too risky for a company to entrust them with their HR & insurance needs, and I wouldn't even want to be remotely associated with them. Any company with a smart CEO or General Counsel would advise to wait a while, and I think that'd be best case scenario. There goes your "growth"

Spoken like a true economist (not that this is a bad thing). I agree with your first point, but I think you're wrong about the put option. It is not easy to "break even or minimize your losses" at all. Only if you're putting no money down would this be even close. Real estate is illiquid by definition and post 2008 nearly every foreclosure lost 100% of the equity built (and a major impact on your credit score).
