This is little different. All western institutions will fail because all western institutions are run by money grubbing cowards. The west will eventually die and we will be taken over by strongmen like Jinping or Putin. This brief liberal moment we had in an otherwise authoritarian history will be extinguished.

Not clear if the author has tried procedures where the skin of the "white" person was removed surgically, or maybe altered in appearance to be less "white", would be interesting to see follow up research on the matter. So a "scientist", Peter Palese, signs a propaganda[1] letter[2] condemning the lab leak theory as a conspiracy theory. Media uses this to silence dissent. Now Peter Palese goes back on his original claims[3] and it's "just the scientific process".

2. US did fund Wuhan Institute of Virology

3. WIV did do cornoavirus gain of function research

4. There has been more at least 4 leaks from Chinese labs in less than 15 years. This excludes a potential COVID leak.

5. State departement investigators were told to not investigate a lab leak theory because it would open a pandora's box.

6. The biosafety at some of the wuhan instute of virology coronavirus labs was on par with a dentist office.

These people should all be fired. And the people who sent funding to China to perform gain of function research on coronaviruses in shoddy leaky labs should be held criminally liable.

Software can be shitty garbage in many ways. It can be shitty garbage by having lots of bugs, and it can be shitty garbage by having a maintainer which cares more about bottlenecking all changes than about the future of a project.

But everyone is free to make shitty software, so have at it.

How do you figure this? If businesses were not paying more the market rate would not be going up.

I’d argue it’s the philosophy of owners of low-wage businesses.

I fail to understand why any business should pay more than market rate for anything. I get that you want the market rate to be higher, but I have yet to ever have encountered a business that completely disregards market rate and just blows their wad on the first employee they hire.

I've had a few people offer help over the course of the years, but unfortunately they don't always have all the skills needed, so they can only help with a part of the project.

I think it has always been rare. I generally avoid projects which are under a person's own github account because to me it is a massive red flag that they will kill the project by failing to maintain it and failing to hand it over at some point in time.

When you build a project the most important part is to eliminate dependency on yourself. If you are approving all commits, or doing most changes, you need to fix it, because it is a problem.

There is nothing wrong with demanding that people help themselves, people are not entitled to your time, and unless you are not processing PRs then you are not the problem.
