A little bit, but the scale is another magnitude higher. I just saw a chart yesterday that shows Uber burning $18B, Tesla burning $9B, and Netflix burning 11B before reaching profitability. Open AI so far spent $218 Billion.

How is it Apple’s version of the notch when Apple invented that too. I actually perfer a notch over the island. My 13 pro is going strong, but the regular has me very intrigued.

Could be the low power ecores being in use somehow? Meteor Lake has 3 types of core with 2 lpE cores in the SOC to try to turn off the Main P and E core tile. Lunar Lake removed the lpE cores and it does feel faster when surfing pages like reddit than my 12th gen and 5000hz laptops. I also tried the Ryzen AI and it is pretty close but 20% less battery life. They get a pretty crazy 15hr battery life now.

Its really iPhone 11 when things got crazy with deep fusion. The iPhone X actually has the most detailed screen. When i look at the same photos, somehow the X has better color and details than up iphone 14 max (i have every iphone till 14). If you look at raw image you will be blown away how little has changed since even iphone 4!

But at the end of the day its all about the photographer than the equipment. Just ask chefs. 20 students same kitchen, ingredients, recipe, 20 different tasting dish.

What really drove that in was when my art teacher took a shot of me with my camera and holy shit it was one of the best pics I've seen. He just has the eye at the end of the day.

The base models maybe, but the Pros have crazy OLEDs that almost have me drooling. The speed hasn't changed much, i just got a 11 Pro with M1 and it isn't any faster in normal stuff than the A12 on my 12.9". I always get my Apple devices from used shops and got my 11 Pro for $250 when it was 2 gens old and feel I won't get the OLED one till I find one for $300ish.

Unfortunately with DDR5L speeds, they need to be embedded to keep signal stability, so you need to find at least a 16GB laptop which is STILL pretty gatekept with a higher chip like i7 so you have to pay $300 more for that extra 8GB, pulling a page from Apple. Luckily m.2 is still a thing and 99% of Windows still use it.

Ipad Mini is such a good size. My friend lent me his Mini2 when he borrowed money from me and used it for a good 6 months i think and it was marvelous. I didn't use it all that much but later got an Air 2 and used it maybe slightly less. Then I got an iPad Pro 11" but only used it for a while and don't really touch it too much anymore. I feel maybe an ipad mini I would use more. But the jelly scroll really has me urked and I kinda want OLED on it, so there is definitely room for a Pro version if they wish, but the iPads are overwhelming with 5 sizes already.

This is nuts, if i learned Mandarin, i would probably move to Taiwan, where the CoL is almost 1/4th of where I am right now. I know some other languages, but loss the will to study anymore lol.

Some people also don't realize how linked to time C is. If you were to say not move at all. You will be moving through time at C. But if you were moving say at 50% the speed of C, you will only be moving through time at 50%. So you can never exceed natural speed + natural time.

They would need to, as Matt is in full on WAR mode shooting rockets a civilians too (he disabled WPEngines sites access to the plugin repository). Basically starving out anyone who needs to do anything. This is dangerous as plugins all need to be updated constantly less you get hacked as soon as an exploit is found. It's like they say, absolute power corrupts absolutely, and Matt pretty much has an iron grip on Wordpress which had humble beginnings but turned into the google/facebook of websites.

Most batteries are made in China (or even cheaper places) now, so they simply do not last. I have iPad 2s that still last for MONTHs without charging. Nowdays iPhone batteries start heavy degradation about 2 years in. That 20-25% loss means all day battery to needing to charge at least once before going to bed for many. Source: I replace more batteries now than screens.

I'm waiting for 10X optical. There are times where I borrow my wifes s21 Ultra to get a shot i just can't on iphone. Everything else isn't really needed. I haven't even upgraded to iOS17 on my 13. I also have a 14 Pro Max as my gamer but hate the island so i'm sticking to my 13 Pro as daily driver at least 1-2 more years.

I think the only case I can think of where AI will revolutionize positively is self driving cars. Revolutionizing transport will have huge implication. The next thing would be robots, but that's just making people lazy in the household and replacing jobs. Crypto, voice assistants, IoT, smart homes, are bad examples are these have a great chance to grow more still. They will probably replace smartphones as smartphones did with PCs.
