Do you think you would ever use LLMs in tandem in your practice to help diagnose and treat?

Anecdote on healthcare, adjacent to this.
My dog had been acting off. Wouldn’t eat, was hunched over, looked sad. We took him to a local vet who did an X-ray because they suspected a blockage. They didn’t see one, so they sent us home with standard pain meds.
Randomly, we had a dinner party that night and another vet was there. She heard the story and immediately said, “Go home right now and take your dog to an emergency vet with ultrasound.”
Turns out, at the time, most vets had been trained to use X-rays to look for blockages, but newer evidence showed X-rays were only something like 20% effective compared to ultrasound, which was closer to 95%. (forget percentages but somethign like that)
The ultrasound found an avocado pit stuck in his intestine. He had emergency surgery that night.
That chocolate chunk of an English Lab ended up living until 15, and only needed two more blockage surgeries after that...
I know doctors hate patients reading the internet, and LLMs are going to make that 1000% worse for them. But hopefully over time, we all adapt together and end up better off in the long run.
They call it 'onramping'. Moonpay is a big one, coinbase has one, onramper is another. Basically Applepay / credit card -> ETH or SOL or USDC, etc, then lose away!
arb?
Another data point.
California pistachios consume about 500–600 billion gallons of water per year.
I came across this thread on twitter this morning but isn't he the CEO / co-founder and he's clearly a man? I guess I don't get the reference. I know he has a co-founder who's a female, maybe she was lead at the time?
"1. A Sequoia partner passed on Cloudflare because he didn’t think a woman could lead a security infrastructure company. Seriously. "
ive had rappers offer me $10k for my ig username. i'm holding out for the bank to buy it.
Every new technology promises to fundamentally change learning, education, personal growth and ends up being used in the laziest way by 99% of people. Radio, TV, internet, now AI. Eating right and exercise or GLP1?
I agree with the sentiment, however, by definition most people will not follow your advice.
how so?
We have the same "problem" where I live in central coast CA. It's so rad to see kids ripping e-bikes all over town. Would I prefer the kid riding on the back seat isn't staring at her phone? Of course! But at least they are outside exploring! Fwiw most of the kids I see with this freedom are Mexican but that could be because I live closer to and work downtown, closer to lower income areas and not in the suburbs.
Have you tried losing weight and if so, did that help?
Easy. It's all fake.
FYI, the definition of small business in the US is fewer than 500 employees.
You think "most people" save at least $75k a year?
News at 9, shorter people on average live longer than taller people...
But why would they make the product shittier and not just more expensive? A lot of the complaints have been the model getting lost and going rogue.
For anyone who thinks there is flawed logic in this I encourage you to study JC Penney's pricing strategy failure. People, by and large, are not rational.
Ya but all the financial logic in the world doesn’t account for Elon god, number go up.
Ban them too. Make bets have to be placed in person.
I've talked about this on here before, but we think the solution is an auth layer built on top of credit score through an intermediary like creditkarma. The score itself doesn't really matter but it does solve big problems.
Plus, if you wanted to implement a filtering system for users, I personally would rather trust reviews / comments from credit scores over 650, they have less incentive to be astroturfing.
But yes, I think your conclusion is correct. This is the only way.
I have a set of very expensive hand made japanese irons (golf clubs). I assure you I did not buy them from social influence or clout. In fact, nobody ever really sees them except me. I bought them because the craftsmanship and how truly beautiful they are. They make me smile.
Does nicotine?
I write most of my emails purposely misspelling words / lacking proper capitalization so the recipient knows it wasn't written with ai. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
HN has been overwhelmingly astroturfed since at least 2010.
Two of the fastest growing YC companies are crypto companies built on solana, Kalshi and Axiom. I'm pretty sure Axiom was the fastest to $100m in revenue, ever.
I don’t understand this pov. Unfortunately, id pay 10k mo for my cc sub. I wish I could invest in anthropic, they’re going to be the most profitable company on earth
Does it tell a thief a chipolo is following them around like the apple tag?
I wasn't suggesting that people wouldn't be allowed to participate without a score, (which I think everyone has a score regardless of no debt?). I was suggesting that login / auth takes place by credit score verification. This would solve a couple problems. First, and most important, we know it's a real person commenting / participating. Second, systems could be designed to filter by score. For instance, if I'm researching products on reddit, I'd sure love to know A. it's a real person, and B. to filter by some score threshold. I'd wager people with higher scores have less incentive to get paid to shill some product online.
Anyways, from the little research I've done, it's certainly illegal and not a proper mechanism for authentication. One can dream though :)
Pick your poison, I suppose. All I know what we have now is a race to the bottom. Reviews, comments, dating sites, all a giant fabrication.
We've always wanted to build a service which provides authentication through credit score verification. Whether its applied to dating apps, product review sites, HN. I'd sure love to filter by 650+ only. I'm certain it's illegal but it sure would help.
