Well, they tried by letting the payroll tax expire this last year, but caved after realizing it was a huge PR fiasco. What also gets me is that looking forward, they want to push some middle class tax hikes. I get it that the "rich" pay a LOT of taxes, but the already wealthy aren't really known to be leading the forefront of innovation. If anything we should just leave things as they are, or a slight increase on the upper earners to maintain middle class rates as much as possible.

Okay, I consider myself a conservative-leaning independant, but the GOP is really starting to piss me off lately. They lack any and all substance, saying one thing, but doing the oppposite (running on "liberty and freedom" while pushing censorship, loudly proclaiming the benefits of of competition while supporting monopolies, heralding lower taxes while actually raising them, etc.). Their dedication to rhetoric over policy can be seen in their nomination of Mitt Romney. John Huntsman Jr. would be a president that Romney could never hope to be in a million years. I would argue that he would rival Obama, if not to be slightly better.

That's just it: Apple has managed to market its products, and especially its mobile devices, as better-no-matter-what. They're consistently behind the punch and offer a pretty feature-dilute experience.

It's also been mentioned that you pay for the "peace of mind," but can anybody here actually quantify what that means on a mobile device? I also find this really ironic because this comes after antenna-gate which most people seem to have forgot. We're consistently told by the media and Apple's marketing that buying from them is a safe bet, has this ever actually meant anything?

Samsung doesn't have 70% profit margins on their mobile devices: that's highway robbery.

This is what I don't get: people applaud Apple for their massive profit margins when in reality it just shows how they're screwing the consumer. Does nobody care about the betterment of the general public -us!?- around here? By buying products with huge profit margins you're spending money on features that you're not getting. And THAT is why I refuse to buy Apple products.

The thing that most people don't realize and the media surprisingly never talks about is the fact that Medicare and Medicaid consistently underpay for treatments given. Somehow the government gets away with only paying 2/3-3/4 of the actual cost, leaving the hospital to foot the bill. It's so bad that many clinics don't accept Medicare because it simply causes them to hemorrhage too much cash.
