This feels like the same logic as "I had to pay off my student loans, so other people should have to suffer like that too." Suffering does not make you better later despite what millennia of Christian theology has told people about its supposed purgative effects. It seems pretty rad to me to be able to just not suffer through the bad part of getting over a major life problem, and I for one am happy that people will be able to skip that part and get on to the part where they live well.

here's a better idea: stop having unilateral rules about menu layout. Different use cases require different layouts and interactions. You could maybe say "don't just default to hamburger menus."

Cars already have an operating system. It's a dash with dials you can look at to get info, a wheel you can use to steer, a set of pedals to control motion, a set of switches and buttons to control lights and such, and a center console with physical buttons that control extras like radio and heat/cooling. Not everything needs to be a computer!

Seems neat but this website is really terrible at explaining what the product is or why I'd want to use it. The homepage looks like a spammy blog landing page? give me a big hero image (ideally an autoplay no-audio video acting like a gif) and like, 10 words and some links to more details. Also no info on pricing?

This kind of nonsense is a great ad for Apple's hardware.

The extremely very obvious solution for people who want to install whatever they want is to get an android device, and yet people bend over backwards to try to get stuff onto Apple hardware. It's like buying a shirt that famously only comes in blue and trying to figure out how to make it be red.

The free version is unfortunately hobbled but slack is a lot better than discord at least at critical things like "getting caught up on messages that were sent since you last read." Some friends and I recently started a discord server for an async D&D game and it's a real pain to get caught up. They have the same red "you were here" line and the same "X new messages" banner as slack, but discord's default scrolling behavior works against you.

I just want to own a home so that I have stable housing expenses and don't live at the whim of an absentee landlord who never fixes anything, raises the rent by double-digit percentages every year, and could choose not to renew my lease any year now.

People said this dumb shit about novels too. It's not the phones.

It's the dystopian late stage capitalist hell world they live in. They see no good future for themselves. They know their lives will be worse than ours, which are worse than our parents' were on average in the US.
