LLMs are also notoriously verbose. Don't know if that's the case here, but not sure how "Passion" protects against that

While I do agree the iPhone was the major cause, I think this was an intentional move by Apple. During the early years, iTunes let you make your own ringtones for free using songs in your library. GEICO even had a novelty ringtone online you could download to your iPhone for free. Eventually, Apple started selling premade ringtones (for the same price as the full song!), after which the built-in iTunes functionality was removed.

One major disadvantage is that this one doesn't seem to have an OSS license :(

I've been trying to get back into RSS recently. The problem I keep having is the dramatic weight difference between a news site and a personal blog; I'm occasionally interested in what the news site posts, but its volume is so overbearing that it's all I see in my feed. I just walk away with FOMO every time.

I'm currently thinking about trying Feedly AI as an algorithm that could surface good content for me.

Leaving it at work goes one step further than my flow. I have AWP configured to automatically turn off at the end of the workday, so I become unavailable after that. There's always the possibility I can turn it back on after hours, but that extra step works well enough as a deterrent for me :)

That's true with a separate work phone too right? And once I turn off the AWP for the day, all of that stops.

Not GP, but I'm okay installing that stuff on my personal phone because it's isolated via Android Work Profile.

Kivy's marketing seems to be targeting LOB apps. If I was going to develop one of those, I'd optimize for something standardized and easy to maintain (HTML/JS) vs. the performance benefits of a native UX or cross-platform framework.

The landing page is weird; it talks more about the funding for the framework than the framework itself. There's only one image showing UI, and the way its styled (cropped, tilted) makes me think its a stock photo, not a screenshot. The stock photo of a train right underneath isn't helping this perception for me.

How do you know if an article is good or not? You have to waste your time reading at least some of it. I've found it useful to have ChatGPT generate a summary, then if the summary sounds interesting, then I read it.

Gruber has always been loquacious, but this one seemed excessive to me. Still, I was curious for his overall impressions on Apple Intelligence.

The summary sounded interesting to me, so I then dedicated time to read the source. To your credit, ChatGPT's summary was much more critical than the actual article.

For people in agreement with Vivaldi, how are you summarizing articles today? I often find content that's not important but also too verbose, and having an LLM summarize it for me is perfect.

Right now, I'm doing this very manually, but am actually thinking of switching my browser just to have this capability baked in.
