It could be the different extensions you have installed. Often this happens with adblockers, so if you use incognito mode or another browser it would fix it.

Seems kind of silly to ignore that javascript enables much more robust user interfaces. It can and is used poorly or maliciously, but it's used for far more than cosmetic or financial reasons.

Here in Portland almost every driver uses both apps so I don't find a difference in driving. I prefer Uber simply because there's less expectation of tipping and the price is about the same.

Humans and computers have different strengths though. Just because humans can't do something good doesn't mean computers can't, and vice-versa.

I've seen this kind of situation unfold before in a tech community. Without picking a side here, I will say that one thing that really bothers me is the lack of transparency. The whole concept of being able to publicly shame/expel someone without providing real evidence to support that action because of "privacy" seems extremely unfair.

While you can certainly design a room around a modern TV easier than in the past, I still find them to be aesthetically unpleasing when I'm not using them. Especially when dealing with small apartments and studios, I don't want a large TV in my space.

I'm not so certain it's a majority. I think growing up wealthy and not working has a profound effect on people. It isolates you from the majority of the population, and removes any external pressure to grow and take risks.

I just got an iPhone for the first time after many years of Android. I was sick of the Android versions of most popular apps being much worse/buggier than their iOS counterpart. It's not just Snap.

The bootcamp I went to gave us a one-month internship and some job-seeking help/training. That plus giving us more networking opportunities and people to learn with was a huge help for me. We also spent most of the time pair programming. There is a lot you can get out of a bootcamp that is hard to do on your own. That being said, if you are motivated enough, learning on you own is still the most cost-effective method.

I think that's one of the reasons Mars Colonization would be a great thing for humanity overall. The technology we would have to perfect to survive on Mars would be very useful back on Earth.

I love this idea. I think bringing the idea of blue apron to a lower income market would be amazing, especially if it could take advantage of government incentives. One of the hardest things about cooking healthy is doing all the meal planning.

Only on road trips or if you have an extremely long commute. The vast majority of the time with an electric car it's much more convenient because you charge overnight. You never have to go to a gas station again.

Good luck on getting a rule like that implemented with little or no grandfathering. The economics of that are just too extreme.

I think you are truly in a minority if you'd rather take a survey than have the data collected automatically. There has to be a sane middle ground.
