omg and with the new tech around generative AI...

This is shaping up to be a very interesting decade to be in tech.

We might actually be able to generate new sequences and test them against all the diseases to remove them.

This is a pretty interesting idea, especially for companies that have come out of the growth phase and operate as more or less open source projects.

I suppose that the need for this comes out of the fact that.. we've written a ton of code that needs to be maintained at this point. It's not interesting work, but it's busy work that's still important.

Here's a hot take I heard from a CEO coach last year. She thought burnout was the bodies response of saying that you are literally going to die if you keep working

This is the first post I've read about ADHD that makes me think that there are multi-dimensional qualities and that the general public treats ADHD as a binary yes/no. Very interesting and great self-awareness too.

This is dope, I think the benchmarks of speed for python marks it way slower than C++, JS.

If this could be used in mainstream web dev with the level of speed detailed, python might eat Javascript's lunch.

*bias - python obsessed

Have you tried niching down on a tech stack, an industry, or even the types of teams you want to work on? It's a good way to stand out from the crowd. You might have to turn away more recruiter screens, but it gives you a much stronger profile against everyone else with the companies you have strong fit in.

100% tons of DL/ML researchers use Jupyter. I think the problem that most have is deploying the apps in prod.

There's a school of thought presented in David Chang's documentary where we're going to be one of the last generations to consume wild bluefin tuna. Because we've industrialized fishing them at this point.

The financial incentives are too powerful to turn down, each one can come in at $20 to $5,000 Per Pound. A single tuna is tens of thousand, if not hundreds of thousands on the market.

On the consumer side (CA/NY) anything Ahi Tuna-related is going to fly off the shelf, even with premium mark up prices.

I'm not sure where we go from here. Maybe a shift in community values? It's trending higher and higher online too, which probably correlates with consumption - https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&geo=US&q=a...

I used to rely on StackOverflow to stay plugged in to the developer world. But now with newsletters, developer influencers, and more forums with code block formatting, it's just not necessary anymore. I think the status of having stackoverflow points has been translated to twitter followers.

Is there a way to add terms of service to the json feed? Effectively it's a firehose GET command and that's tricky to open up publicly without some kind of checks and balances: rate limiting, docs, TOS, etc.

I think it's very possible that Elon is doing whatever he feels like it. X.com used to be his old company that merged with paypal.

The Occam's Razor is that he just likes the name X.com.

I mean he's still a weirdo but he probably isn't putting much thought into any of this.
