Hot take, maybe, but this is one of the few "mistakes" I see with Go. It makes adding QoL things like you mentioned difficult, requires shoehorning pointers to allow for an unset condition, some types don't have a safe default/zero value like maps, and makes comparisons (especially generic) overly complex.

AMP lives on, mostly as AMP for Email and used by things like Google Workspace for performing actions within an email body (allow listed javascript basically).

Kinda, for Q2 and Q3 you're expected to pay the full amount for the quarter about a month or so before it ends. So it's less the accounting method kinda and more I haven't been paid for a month that I already owe taxes for.

I'm SE and there are quite a few tax breaks available, especially if you structure as a S-Corp. The hard part is figuring out what all tax breaks are available as they're constantly changing, like last year you can deduct dental insurance premiums.

I still pay an eye watering amount, and being SE shows you the brutality of the system (estimated taxes are insane, especially the payment schedule for them when you're NET 30/60).

The specification for most systems _is the code_. English cannot describe business rules as succinctly as code, and most business rules end up being implied from a spec rather than directly specified, at least in my experience.

What does prompting quality even mean, empirically? I feel like the LLM providers could/should provide prompt scoring as some kind of metric and provide hints to users on ways they can improve (possibly including ways the LLM is specifically trained to act for a given prompt).

If this could ever happen, there will be no point in GUI apps anymore, your AI assistant or what have you will just interact with everything on your behalf and/or present you with some kind of master interface for everything.

I don't see a bunch of small agents in the future, instead just one per device or user. Maybe there will be a fleeting moment for GUI/local apps to tie into some local, OS LLM library (or some kind of WebLLM spec) to leverage this local agent in your app.

Here's to hoping the IOU purchase orders for RAM and SSDs get cancelled... Though I think folks are hedging that this will happen and limiting new suppliers.
