It appears he ran afoul of Google and is danger of losing his account because of content he is not responsible for.

He copied the chat logs of a scammer who had doxxed him. They are written in a language he does not speak or read. He intended to share them with a Spanish-speaking friend who can translate them properly for him. These were uploaded to his google drive account.

That text, which he did not write and cannot read, contained what Google considers against their content policy as hate speech, and has flagged DJ Slope for deletion and cut him off.

He is pleading for help from anyone who can get in contact with Google to help him in this matter.

If anyone from there reads the parent, they should know they have created an atmosphere where the worry of possible prosecution over responsible disclosure has the potential to scare away the best minds in our country from picking at these systems.

That just means the best minds from other, potentially less friendly countries, will do the picking. I doubt they will responsibly disclose.

I also have experienced various delays related to my cpap machine. I wonder how much of this debacle is because people in the know knew that this was coming, and therefore intentionally delayed anything to do with cpaps.

I think one should be careful using the term "click fraud" in this context. Someone who installs this extension doesn't in my mind qualify to be defrauding anyone. There is no contract in place, it isn't against the law to express interest in a product, and there's no technical controls being breached illegally as the browser is just sending a request to a server.

Hanging onto stock from a company I co-founded a few years ago has caused me tons of stress because that company constantly files for tax extensions forcing me to do so as well.

I have other financial processes which rely upon timely processing of my completed tax filing, and every year it causes me trouble. So if something is thought to be worthless and about to fold, "just hang onto it" could cause a non-zero amount of headaches.

Sending this to my senator would just notify her of what company she should reach out to for a campaign contribution.

I love Leo and have been a fan since TechTV days. His inability to remove political opinions from his netcasts, primarily the loathing echo chamber that he fosters, make it very difficult to listen to TWIT regularly. But I still power through it occasionally because it's a good show and his guests are very informed.

It's a loophole of practicality that is often exploited by executive branch regardless of political party.

Initiate a policy or order, mitigating the immediate damage. Then, days, months or years later, a court will decide you didn't have that power and will reverse it. But the threat or problem was already dealt with and there are no repurcussions except political capital spent.

So it would seem safe to say that financial crimes can take a very long time to bring charges. Why is the smoking gun so buried?

Businesses have this odd existential mandate of having to make more money than they spend, or they would disappear. This doesn't typically happen to humans, so less humans follow that rule and subsidize losses with credit.

Therefore people who want to force things that require money to implement go to who they perceive to have the money to burn.
