Ya, but this is a proof-of-concept rip-off. The fact that the indexes don't have our back is a huge problem.

I should note, mostly we have screened, and then paid them to come work with us for 3 to 4 hours on a real piece of code.

First, get a kazoo, chalk, 5 live chickens, and a sharp knife.

Use the chalk to draw a numbered grid on the sidewalk; 10 should be fine.

Divide the resumes into 10 groups.

Cut the head off a chicken and see which number it wanders into. Repeat until you are down to one resume.

Done and far more efficient than all the current methods.

I really recommend The Man Who Loved China by Simon Winchester. My brother picked it for a family book club and I was blown away. Amazing story and person.

My Side Of The Mountain is one of my favorite books of all time. I built so many forts inspired by that book :)

well said, I agree, and those big things become holy wars even though they largely have zero impact on them. Better to focus on things closer to where they can have an impact, I think they would be happier.

I run a Reddit group. Someone thought a fantasy book cover was AI art, and everyone piled on, talked crap, attacked the author, etc. Turns out 100% human by a well-known artist.

We had to make a rule against AI witch hunts. It brings out the worst in humans.

I see ads claiming to be BBC all the time on Reddit with similar.

Is Gitlab doing better at this point? Or where do they stand?

Just to note, I made the site to interview authors and get their 5 favorite books on something they are passionate about. And I promote their book alongside the list to help them bump into readers. Authors generally just want to share something they are passionate about; it isn't about money, as nobody is writing a book to make money.

It is a great way to meet books, I think :)

ya, there were a bunch of trade routes along this path to all the different regions/cities. We just named the entire concept the "Silk Road" in the 1800s (it was coined in 1877 by Ferdinand von Richthofen).

The nice thing about going with a group is that it comes with a support vehicle and water/food/bag carrying. Doing it on my own would be about 10x more intense in terms of prep, I think. I've watched a few biking videos where they started getting close to the edge on water and had to ask random houses they finally found.
