tell me again why ai datacenters in space make no sense

this is just effort equilibrium something that wasnt as effective with “google it”. but ask a low effort question and get “ask claude” as a response is entirely appropriate.
junior developers on my team are often asking questions about our code base without even attempting to explore or self direct. “ask claude to look at <subsystem> and explain how its designed the key files and dependencies so that i can better understand it” is unsurprisingly effective and far cheaper than a couple of hours of opex
Apart from water usage which can be solved by using recycled water or closed loop cooling i fail to see what all the hysteria is over. Communities dont own power production and if usage causes costs to increase then investment in more production will follow.
The level of vitriol i see in all countries over data centers is looking more and more as a proxy against ai.
You can really see how a terrawatt of ai compute in space will make alot of sense vs on earth.
ai data centers are cheaper on earth than space narrative really starting to fall apart
did india ethnical cleanse out the british when they expelled even british indian born nationals?
id rather live in the culture civilisation than the empire of azad
Watch the eu do the same thing
i see all these claims its too expensive but why arent we comparing it to wage costs, is $10-20 an hour actually expensive?
also its not really waste, its waste by law only, in reality its unrefined fuel
interesting article seems wild to blame climate change with that laundry list of artificial interventions
if a company has a problem with this pay for support if its not worth the money …
if models are good at hacking software they are equally good at patching it
use ai to do that
doesnt this entire premise rely on an even shock to all parts of the labour economy
how many average humans do you need if your good humans are driving the ai
what about massive western economies who export wealth through imports could they not offset the effect of employment changes domestically with a decreased demand on imports?
seems to me this will effect countries who rely on mid market exports over raw or high end exports way more then others.
at the very least hes a great capital allocator
how many batteries do you need for a terrawatt of compute? do we have industry capacity to even build that much?
its only a expensive to viable alternatives, is there a viable alternative for 1 terrawatt of compute on earth? how could you get approvals for such a project
your confusing expensive with limited capacity
how does ai in space “impact every nation”
and when the sun goes out?
i disagree that he even meets the “modern definition”, in my opinion
this is why ai in space will win
elon musk isnt a nazi
now scale it ti 1 terrawatt
now try to build this infrastructure project and get approvals at all levels of government in a time frame that doesnt see you fall behind
whose wasting 50% of their silicon production capacity to save on power. doesnt make alot of sense even with money silicon is hard to buy at scale
