as someone who is not a fan of Facebook but uses, I've got to admit I noticed they did something and I've been using the site more recently, and that it's better recently.

Mainly, I've increased the number of news sites I 'like' and I'm getting my news much more through FB recently, I already used to 'unfollow' people who post worthless stuff frequently, so I'd guess my Timeline is at a good 'configuration'

I've been tuning down my consumption of mainstream media greatly and have been following more `real`, `credible` journalism, as well as more 'community' content e.g.: friends bands, friends projects, local initiatives, fun/comedy pages that refutes backward thinking and political discussions relevant to my area of the world, this is also making me less engaged in, for example, Hacker News because I'm becoming less interested in US matters etc, so, I've got to say that my views on the Bad of Facebook are softening and I'm seeing some Good, although it feels a bit weird to say this :)

Obviously it's not all flowers tho, as much as I may be getting 'bubbled', the same people that have views that I see as backwards are probably getting their own confirmation-bias version...

Is `educated worker` some kind of euphemism for genius/top of the game or something? I am an educated worker, and probably everyone else around here.. Seems like a bit-too-broad statement(I for one am not currently interested in immigrating not one bit)

Anyway, I always thought the best would want to move to the US because it's there's top work, e.g.: there's no Tesla or SpaceX elsewhere and a top engineer would probably want to be doing this kind of work... Same with scientists that are working on ambitious research. But maybe I'm thinking about H1b as more of `top of the top, get your asses here` and it's more like `ye you're skilled enough you can try`, dunno.

But yeah, I'm with you, I'm yet to find any convincing evidence ADHD exists and I think the consequences of this unscientific+dogma approach is a damn tragedy. All the pain and suffering that it causes, the pressure and agony parents go through because, obviously, they want the best for their child, this is not quantified(I bet the money is though)

I liked this. Programming is not easy and it's not always pleasurable, people should be open about it(maybe?).

As a more programmer-programmer, what sucks, to me, is that I can't play anymore. Since I code professionally I find it really tough to keep on programming like 100% of the time I'm awake. Really, after 8 hours stressing and trying to deliver it feels like my brain is dry and can't take more, then surely I get the feelings of "isn't there more to life?"

I guess if I worked 6 hrs/day I'd probably be a happier and better programmer. It is a strenuous activity, when I get to it after a day of work, lets say 1,5 hours to two hours of doing stuff in my spare time, generally it's not enough to finish anything, or learn something to "I'm satisfied with this" level(I also gave up on backbone)

For example, I've already gone through a book on Android programming besides plenty of articles and plus messing around .. But in trying to build some useless shit just to develop it, in two hours I'll barely have anything new ready that I'm proud of, mostly no progress at all(Java btw), if the useless shit doesn't get done, it puts me off of doing the really cool shit I'd really like to do, there's not enough time in life to play with code and work with it and it gets me bummed, I'm 26 and I'm no longer at the "no really, programming is the coolest thing possible!" phase, I have other interests like reading, music, women, beer, videogames(basically given up on this already), soccer(my legs are not strong enough anymore, so, halted), drawing(seeming like a better escape for creativity than programming nowadays), hanging out with friends... I don't honestly don't know to do about this, I guess I wish I could do whatever I want... ;/

It's not on our education system, Most mid-class kids go to paid schools, I went to a good one but didn't learn English there, I did a paid, years long, English course and played a lot of MMOs so it was 'easy', I believe in India and other outsourcing hotspots English is much more tied in basic education...

The cost for this is really high and now I see that most of my friends who didn't learn from an early age are probably not learning it anymore(time and money issues) and, if they do, their English will still not be very good
