Crazy considering this was their primary argument against the App Store's revenue share model. Not that they're wrong, but you'd think they would at least be consistent.

If that were the case they would select the ones generated by other models at a similar rate to the ones they generated themselves.

To be fair these frontier models have been seriously increasing their pricing as of late. Opus 4.6 requests regularly cost over $5 now, with average requests costing ~$1-2. If Composer is benchmarking better than Opus and costs $0.08 per request that's a win for everyone.

I know people like to hate Composer but competition is a benefit to all of us, and I don't doubt Composer will take it's own chunk of the consumer market.

I think it’s two things: 1. What you said, politicians have little incentive to give up power on gerrymandering. 2. The American political system is designed to be adversarial, and adding an “independent” agency with that much power ~feels~ like it invites distrust and corruption.

The issue with kids is theres often a lot of real problems with how they actually get to school. In the US kids will often wait anywhere from 5-20 minutes for the bus, sometimes in 0° F (-17.8° C) weather. Not to mention that waking up before the sunrise has its own issues with decreasing mood.

Huh, didn't know that active placebos existed. (I'm not in the medical field) Would you go more in depth on this? What would they use as a placebo, if not psilocybin? Couldn't an active placebo affect the patients and skew the results/measured effectiveness of the main drug being studied?

I have this strange experience where I only remember my dreams if I am woken up from sleep unnaturally. When it happens it feels as if my mind knows that in the future I'll be woken up by something. Obviously this isn't how the brain chemistry works, but I can't help but feel this way when it happens.

I still think that for learning the math behind ml Matlab still makes the most sense though. It takes the focus off the programming itself and enforces the matrix concepts. Although python is the undisputed king in that regard so unfortunately it makes more sense to teach that
