EdgeDB is essentially a new data silo whose type system cannot be used to serialize data external to the system.

I think this implies that serializing external data to zson is easier than writing an INSERT into edgedb, but not sure why that would be.

It's really hard to approach fitness as yet another obligation, unless you happen to have a laid back lifestyle. My advice: find some kind of exercise that you enjoy, don't stress about whether it's the optimal program. Use the time as a mental break from your day at the computer, or to get some energy in the morning or to unwind after work. Don't focus on results at first - then, after it becomes a habit, you can optimize.

Don't change anything, but look for silver linings. That drive is hard to find and makes you sound like an ideal person to work with - feel free to get in touch if you're interested.

Naive question: how does the legal system determine appropriate damages for this kind of infringement? Can ImageRights just name a number, or is there some kind of precedent?

Using a $500 photo intuitively seems worse than using a $5 photo. But if the offender had no intent - ie. a grandmother that didn't know you can't just copy anything from Google Images - would be bizarre to have punitive damages be a multiplier of the original license cost.

This assumes all violators are doing it willfully. I imagine most restaurant owners that make a Squarespace site in an afternoon have no idea you can't just copy something from Google Images.

Not sure if this is what OP was getting at, but it's possible that the attack vector will baloon if more 3rd party apps are pressured to provide logical scripting interfaces
