I've been at Doximity for over 5 years and can say it's an incredible company. Great team, challenging problems for a great cause.

Feel free to contact me as well if you'd like to find out more, bmiranda@doximity.com

I appreciate that you decided to open-source this project. I do have a few (hopefully) constructive criticisms to make:

1. Using aliases the reindex with near zero downtime is very clever, mad props to Jaroslav Kalistsuk

2. Tire is excellent, I am glad you didn't try to reinvent the wheel here, please keep it that way.

3. Conversion based score boosting, although clever is flawed. Hardcoding values https://github.com/ankane/searchkick/blob/master/lib/searchk... is convoluted. You should consider providing a more flexible DSL to customize how conversion based score is calculated.

4. Analyzers https://github.com/ankane/searchkick/blob/master/lib/searchk... are poorly named and do not represent what they do.

Again, this is very nice for version 0.1.2

iOS Developer, San Francisco, CA. Full Time.

Doximity creates products that help doctors communicate, to improve patient care and save lives. In 2 years, 15% of US doctors have signed up. Our products are mobile because doctors are on the move, and they are native because doctors don't have time to wait for HTML5. Our founder/CEO Jeff Tangney previously founded Epocrates, which is used by millions of doctors worldwide.

We are a forty-person startup in San Mateo, CA, backed by the investors behind Salesforce and Yammer. Our team includes incredibly talented individuals with MDs/MBAs/PhDs from fine institutions like UCSF, Stanford, Harvard and MIT and a college-dropout iOS engineer in the top 0.25% of StackOverflow.

I'd rather pay and go home to my family or use the time I would've stayed in line working and making money. But I do agree, it's all ridiculous.

Very narrow minded in my option. There's a reason why people prefer an iPad over a Lemote Yeelong. There is more to life than principles. I do respect his opinion but if he would like to continue to make a difference in the open software community he could stop spending so much time in email and concentrate on technology advancements and how to promote open source.

Give people options and they will generally do the right thing. An intelligent, competent, highly productive employee who is hired by a fast growing and profitable start-up knows better than to take too much vacation to the point of looking stupid. Try this policy at your local dead-end job. Nobody would show up. Because nobody gives a st.

My point, hire smart people, give them a reason to give a st and they'll do the right thing.

Programming is really not supposed to be super easy. When someone is able to start "programming websites" in a couple hours using Rails things get dirty, ala 2007-08 when Rails started getting a bad reputation for amateurish/slow/buggy applications.
