Initial impression is too much information. Multiple things competing for my attention when I land on your page. Trim the text a bit and decide the order of importance of the things you are offering. .

I think you are not understanding me. My contention is adjustments of status snafus isn't going to be much different than K1 approval rates in terms of how people are treated. It seems by the numbers, people are treated the same as it relates K1 whether they come from a "right skin color" country or not. Why is that going to be wildly different when it comes to minor issues?

The K1 approvel rate seems a decent proxy instead of 1 lawyer's opinion. Acceptance went up during V1 of the current administation. https://visagrader.com/visa-approvals-and-refusals/K1

Jamaica, not known for having lots of people with pale skin, has basicaly same approval rate as Germany. https://visagrader.com/visa-approvals-and-refusals/K1/jamaic...

https://visagrader.com/visa-approvals-and-refusals/K1/german...

Would be unlikely that the USCIS radically changed their approach when dealing with paperwork messups for populations if these different countries while apparently approving applications at basically the same exact rate.

Eat Real Food 7 months ago

Not just pressure. Stoping SNAP benefits from funding these sugar and oil peddlers is a good thing.

Eat Real Food 7 months ago

Pure partisan spite. The gov't not spending money on candy and sugary drinks is good. Just like when Michelle Obama pushed for better school lunches.

Eat Real Food 7 months ago

One of the dumbest, frustrating things during Obama's Administration was the partisan Republican attack on Michelle Obama's push for healthier school lunches.

Democrats should not reflexive be against this just because they don't like the current president or HHS secetry. Same thing with the restrictions on buying soda and junk food with SNAP.

The supermarket is filled with processed food. Black cat/White cat whatever catches the mouse. The push to eat real food is good. Embrace it even if you don't like people behind it.

Refreshing Musk is not mentioned here. He says some stupid stuff but he has made his money actually making inovative products that move the world forward. So dumb to hear him talked about as an oligarch.

Plenty of others making their fortune through rent seeking means that could be focused on.

“Lie” I suggest not just reading clickbait headlines. Read the last 2 or 3 paragraphs of story where the writers often bury the inconvenient facts. Such as charges that would invalidate a legal immigrant’s status.

Millions of people who are from other countries are living perfectly fine in the US and not hiding in fear.

Well they should stop worrying. They will be fine. I suggest they don't make MSNBC or similar as their only news outlet. (and yes same for people who only watch Fox news or Newsmax).

"Immigration’s impact on wages, especially in the long term, is not as straightforward as “less supply → higher pay.”

"Restricting immigration might reduce competition in some low-skill job markets, but it can also harm industries that rely on labor shortages being filled"

So restricting immigration of low wage workers, would push up wages in low wage industries. Seems pretty clear.

Hundreds of thousand of foreigners were given work permits by the previous administration. You can see all the companies they highlight in the report here. Many do hire foreign workers: https://ips-dc.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/executive_exce...

Clearly there foreign workers at Starbucks or there would not be protests: According to the popular videos circulating over the Internet, Starbucks halted a few minutes of their services across the nation as a form of protest against the recent “illegal deportation of immigrants.” "We are stopping work for a few minutes to read a statement in protest of actions against our fellow workers," Starbucks Workers United members at the Ellicott City location in Maryland said in a statement during their strike on April 1.

Selecting Other, some interesting jobs description including:

https://www.jobs.now/jobs/151415137-hotel-renovation-special... Must be fluent in Russian. Do you really need to have this to do the job?

https://www.jobs.now/jobs/153205684-senior-director-enrollme... Must have masters in Project Management, IT, Business Administration (pretty broad). Also have 4 years experience in enrollment management systems & operations in higher education setting.

Probably a decent number Americans who could qualify for this.
