I have my last name at Gmail, and the number of people who think it's their email is absurd

After the last one of these articles, I finally flashed my router with OpenWRT, and it's been pretty nice so far. Best feature: Installed `adblock` package, and now I get DNS-level ad blocking, which is simply fantastic. Works on all clients (including mobile) and significantly faster than blocking in browser.

1. Raised $2.9m, 4 employees, 5 years. Let's say 2/3 of overhead was salary, which seems reasonable. So that's 500k each, or 100k/yr. This seems excessive? Were the founders paying themselves too much? Or where did the money go?

This comment is so naive that I don't know where to begin. You can't hire any quality people at $100k / yr fully loaded in SF Bay area.

Obvious XKCD is obvious: https://xkcd.com/927/

I really admire the goals here, and I read through the FAQ ... but I feel like this just adds to the noise.

As much as a respect Jeremy, I'd be a little cautious about using this text written by a non-lawyer.

the ban will create a barrier to innovation, economic development and global impact. Immigrants bring world class skills and expertise to build advanced technology that can improve the lives of people everywhere.

Perhaps this will happen on its own, but if companies are really worried about this, they should have more remote offices (I know Mozilla is remote-friendly, I'm talking in general).

Those are the optics that Trump cares about, job numbers. If tech can get the narrative that job growth will be outside the US w/o skilled immigrants, perhaps that will resonate?

Of course, it's unfortunate that a person can end up losing a financial bet -- it can definitely ruin lives.

... but in this case, these things were so valuable because they were severely constricted. Competition was restricted which means consumer prices are higher. Sure, perhaps that's measured in cents per ride, but it was still a tax levied on all drivers going to a small, lucky few.
