I did the breathing tutorial and did the first exercise but it didn't seem to really "react" to my breathing like I was expecting based on all the promotion. It might get progressively "smarter" but I was expecting more feedback from the UI (which is really pretty btw) when I was breathing in and out.

Academia is fundamentally broken. All the incentives are messed up and I have a hard time trusting anything that has been "researched" at all. Really disappointing.

Anyone checking out this should also look at GoodRx. Full disclosure, I work at GoodRx. I think we beat them on prices for the most part but it is always good to check theirs too. They beat our prices sometimes.

I am all for picking whatever the lowest price is. That is the whole goal.

I don't think anyone is inclined to believe one way or the other. It is a gray area and with the way you described what you did, it certainly seems plausible.

Agreed. With a two person team and we can do things we couldn't otherwise. Having one shared code base for web, android, and iOS is better for two people IMO.

I found there were a bunch of good nuggets of practical knowledge that I didn't know and were very good to learn. In general, the lessons are practical and aren't "fluffy", even for topics I thought might be (like generating startup ideas).

The biggest takeaways for me were:

1) Find people with a problem and have constant communication with them (while solving said problem)

2) Launch early and often. MVP can and should suck.

3) There is no "one big release". This one was super valuable to me because I always thought you basically had one shot to get traction and you failed if you didn't. Realistically, if you do rule 2, you have ample opportunity to continue changing/growing/launching.

I really like your resume, did you build this with LaTeX by chance? I would like to format mine similarly.

This has been my personal experience as well. Stay at the company and get a 6-10% raise or jump ship and get a 50% raise.

Deleted my FB years ago and have never regretted it. It isn't even hard to stay connected to the people that you actually care about.

I don't think that is how it works.

The article is highlighting that the rat race is really just trying to be perceived as wealthy and give off a good image by purchasing more and better things.

I think the "silent majority that wakes up goes to work and just lives their lives" is not a majority. Sure, people go to work but they are trying to make money to buy more things to show what they have. They don't necessarily need it to be a Porsche. The "luxury" goods that many people like to show off are as simple as a big screen TV.

I have been using it for about 8months now and found that the migration portion of it isn't quite ready but is being heavily worked on.

For me, the type safety and ease of use with the api has been fantastic though. For now, I have been happy to use the client but not the migration tool. It has been built so that you don't need to do full buy in if you don't want to.
