My computer freezes for 2-3 seconds when I try to open the volume panel and there are ads everywhere on Win 11. It's like Microsoft wants to wipe every good memory I've ever had with past Windows experiences and just accept the present.

All you did was offer your arbitrary opinion without any supporting argument or anecdotal evidence and suggested we should fix it with more taxes.

If you're going to offer an opinion contrary to the majority, you should at least have a convincing argument why.

I'm working on what I hope to be a high-performance voxel engine from scratch in Rust in my free-time.

Cubic chunks, full lighting engine, opting to be non-deterministic, everything is unsigned integer math except for rotation and rendering, multiplayer is mostly implemented, built to be able to handle heavy simulation.. the foundation work is almost done. Right now it's just a hobby to try to build the best thing I can build. I work on it because it's fun.

I've been thinking about it for a while; and that's exactly the thing I've been questioning for some time. I'm not as convinced as I was that more knowledge equals a better life. I reflect back on how much time I've spent on countless hours of useless YouTube binges. I've wasted so much time on the internet that could have been spent on things that would have made me happier.

That's a pretty cynical take

Okay, so is Trump playing the tarrif game to bring manufacturing back home, or is cynicism and bad faith only okay when it's about US conservatives? Because the hypocrisy is on full display here.

I'm fine with being fair to the EU and giving them the benefit of the doubt, but only if we're fair to everyone.

You're confusing beautiful with simple. There's a lot of complexity and magic that's hidden behind the curtains of that "beautiful" syntax. Great for scripts and small programs, and an absolute nightmare on large projects. It's too simple.
