I use and like Alfred but I think most of the people here are comfortable with terminal and uses it a lot. The touch command is way more easier, fast and "portable".

The only thing about it that I really dislike is that there's no option to delete or cancel your account (a trend with startups). I don't fall to the silly excuse that it's in beta or that they'll have such options "soon". This should be there since day 1. Shows respect for the user/tester and sends the message that your information/data is yours to keep/remove whenever you want.

Edit: I know that Perl is not an option there, it was just for showing how a more "open" approach would be better. Also, the name implies that is a tool for people who likes/uses Ruby (gem). So people would dismiss it based only on the name, not visiting and seeing that there's more options.

It's just me or it's really strange that he's "moved" from Perl to Python because he doesn't like the fact that there's a preferred (by some people) way of doing things. Which, again, for some people, it's the "advantage" of Python, where there should be "one true/simple way" of doing things which, AFAIK, is summarized at PEP8.

If you're a programmer using Emacs/Vim you really don't care for trackpad or mouse for the great majority of your computer needs.

For me it feels like a beta app. Things works in a strange, kinda buggy way of an unfinished product.
