These people may have not been wrong, just early. Keep inflating a balloon - it's hard to say when it's going to pop, but still accurate to say that it will at some point.

This is very true. I use RescueTime to monitor my output. This works for me because of the menial nature of much of my work in addition to ensuring that I'm completely honest in my logs / productivity scoring.

I shoot for eight "very product hours" (+2) per day. Even though the standard workday is considered eight hours, it's pretty difficult for me to hit such a target without invest 10-11 hours of what I would call pretty distraction free work. I'm self employed, so I'm able to avoid a large amount of the normal worktime lost to meetings, chitchat, and the like.

Comparing eight hours of "very productive" rescuetime output feels as if it would be comparable to about 12+ hours standard in a normal work enviroment.

Often, when I hear people exclaiming that they've put in a 70hour/week or whatnot I wonder how many very productive rescuetime hours that would correlate to... 50? 40?

We have seen a negligible (and debatable) conversion rate increase using Trust Guard. However, it's much cheaper than any of the alternatives- so cheap that we opt to have it despite concrete evidence of it's success.

I agree with you in that all of these certs are a sham, but I would argue that for many customers of standard e-commerce (especially online retail) operations they are another thing going in your favor in attempts to appear as a professional outfit.

I'd never put any credence in a seal, but there are many customers that may. It's not worth a $1000/year to us, but it is worth ~$125/year.

I've oft wondered why MySpace doesn't attempt to become the standard for bands- so much so that they don't need standalone websites for their group. If they could offer all of the functionality and backend that bands set up on their actual websites they may be able to parlay their last stronghold into something with great value that also hasn't been done to great extent elsewhere.

Drop the social network- focus on the millions of myspace bands.

The venerable 1st generation 4Runner was essentially a 4th gen HiLux. The original 4Runner is still remembered as an extremely dependable and overbuilt vehicle here in the US.

I use both VLC and MPC-HC on my machines. On the lower end computers I've noticed a large performance difference between the two: MPC-HC can crank out 720P on my 5year old laptops without hiccup, but VLC stutters all over the place.

I've heard some recommendations on how to configure VLC to be more responsive, but the fact remains MPC-HC performs better "out-of-the-box" than VLC.

I still keep VLC around for anything MPC-HC has trouble playing, however, as VLC truly does play just about anything if it is playable at all.

The DC sniper would be a good counterpoint to this. Single kills over a moderate period of time and it generated intense amounts of media coverage.

But what about model animation?

It's actually a very cool setup, allowing you to choose your own camera angles or watch in HD. There are no commercials, but the main stream does default to a "stay tuned" screen during commercial breaks.

I'm not sure why exactly they offer this service (from a business perspective), but it's certainly worth taking a look at- if not at least for the bit of tech wizardry going on.

I used to be a very Amex heavy business. Luckily I had my other options available so when I got Amex f/r'ed last year, I was able to cancel all Amex and switch without any major cash flow issues.

I was very lucky in this respect, as Amex has jeopardized many businesses with their f/r, cdl, and verification practices. There is alot to say here, but to keep it short: If you rely on Amex for operating your business, go ahead and setup alternatives that can be switched to "just in case".

Amex is the greatest when everything is peachy, but if they decide otherwise (and this does not require late payments, breaking your cl, or any other negs) they can and will shut you off until you work with them through it. I decided this type of unreliability was not an acceptable type of relationship I needed for my business financially. Their points & cash back programs are still the best I have encountered, however.

I'm not a math guru by any means. I got as far business cal in college. However, I have always been fascinated with math (and intensely wished it would come easier for me.)

That being said, if I wanted to slowly build up a mathematical foundation (maybe half hour a day), would buying a book like this be right place to start? Or should I be looking elsewhere?

These are the type of projects that are picked up and dropped repeatedly. And as such, they are years in the undertaking.

I'd go so far as to say an ADD-type personality (the kind who is always in the midst of a million projects, but completing none) is the most likely candidate for pursuing these type of projects. It might not even be something you realize until years in-

After the first many times, it appeared to almost be a running joke- until, of course, it wasn't.

This kind of thing happens all of the time. Sometimes it gets resolved, sometimes it does not. Everytime, it takes longer to fix than it should.

Google does not support any of these services you have mentioned (other than adwords). Think long and hard about this. If you rely on any of these services, this same situation could happen to you. Be prepared: Have backups and a backup plan ready just in case.

Coffee, like just about everything else on this planet, has good and bad characteristics. One will find that the negative effects of anything that impacts the body will occur at either extreme of the consumption range. (No consumption or Over-Consumption)

As with anything, moderation is the key to avoiding most side-effects. Granted, articles instructing you to moderate consumption are not nearly as provocative.
