I'll have to check that out! I linked Children of Time in this thread which also does this well using this species

also check out the book Children of Time (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children_of_Time_(novel)). Reading it now (not sure how I missed it originally), pretty good evolutionary world building based on this species :)
probably plain ole prednisone... sometimes it works (esp if you catch it early), mostly it doesn't (it didn't for me)
nope - 15 years remote :)
Honestly, I wouldn't mind office 1x a week or so if it was within 15 min of my house, but based on COL it really isn't worth it. Any commuting beyond that is a waste of time (not to mention the stress, environmental impact, etc involved)
what is the purpose of humans in the animal kingdom? ;)
yep - it is the culture that determines this. Ive worked at full remote companies that took time to mentor juniors and it worked fine
nice troll! wish I could downvote!
I did (mega man), but as others point out it was a diff time. Basically we would rent the game (remember that lol) and play it solid non-stop for 2-3 days trying to beat it.
i agree - I have been using it for years and found it much better than Ubuntu in general
thanks!
Looks like the first and last issue is fixed in 1.0.0 (released 2 days ago). So only that second issue remains for now.
I just pulled it (and switched to dockerd as default container runtime to use 'docker') - it seems to work as a great swap for docker desktop on mac. I like that volumes work well vs podman. Nice that you an trivy scan an image, etc.
Have you hit any sharp edges yet? I imagine there might be a few. Anything you can share would be great
you just need to think of IBM as a service and consultancy company - because that is what they are (and have been for quite a while).
yeah i am not sure if they mean "region" (as in AWS region) instead of zone. if that is the case then I agree with their assessment.
Yes - this is the answer. I used to have an Aeron. Honestly now I just use a regular stiff office chair (not super cushioned). But I also strength train regularly and take a break to walk every 3-4 hours. In particular squatting and deadlifting has basically eliminated all my back problems (I used to sometimes wake up with back pain in the morning).
Now I no longer have to worry about what chair I have -- well as long as it isnt an Iron Maiden :)
Yeah I am in FC and I wish Boulder and Denver well, but it will be a hard fight Comcast owns the city of Denver and most of its metro. Through influence and legislature that is all in their favor. As well as being a HUGE employer in the state.
My only gripe is I really wish they would roll the FC Connexion to my neighborhood in midtown now lol
Is this Fort Collins, CO? :)
dictatorships are the best - as long as your dictator is benevolent...
i would have replaced Trump with Ron Paul (remember him?) as a Republican/Libertarian with strong support via grassroots and youth (that wanted real change) that the party did not want and did everything they could to destroy or co-opt.
When we saw the same thing being done to Sanders by the Democratic party (almost an exact mirror of what happended to Paul) it was a strong hint as to what is really going on. Neither party is"better" in this regard...
IMO - just get the Starting Strength book by Mark Rippetoe and run with that for a year or two (or possibly forever depending on your goals). Quick gym sessions (45 min or less), strength focused exercises and IMO for those basic barbell movements it is the best.
If after you a bit of time you stall in strength and wish to go farther add in more bodybuilding type exercises or switch to another program like Wendlers 5/3/1...etc
But really if I had to recommend anything to most people to stay strong (esp as you age and live the lives we live today), the basic barbell exercises taught in Starting Strength are all you really need for a lifetime.
For neck/back pain I highly recommend strength training - specifically focused on posterior chain exercises like deadlifts, squats (if you do not have any serious preexisting injuries preventing you doing them). Even you are unable to do those a good solid barbell strenght training program can work wonders. Anecdontal for me, but I find whenever I stop training my back/neck pain comes back.
Also important to move a few times a day if you are doing the kind of sitting work most of us do. I make sure that I take a 20-30 min walk before I start working and then at least 1 more time mid-day. This also helps a lot IMO
Curious - where are you now in TX that has this?
"The city council has been approving higher density housing than the area has had historically, despite some grumbling from the SFH owners. The master plan is oriented around mass transit in an area historically devoid of it." ?
Austin?
Yeah I wish docker would add support. For now I just disable cgroupsv2 via kernel param on my fedora laptop to get docker working.
Congrats Fedora team! I upgraded last eve on a thinkpad carbon x1 6th gen. Took 15 min and was seemless! My 4th upgrade on this laptop.
It is good to wait a few weeks at least but I have been running fedora the last few years and the last 2-3 fedora releases have been stellar. I have upgraded within a few days of release and had zero issues (with fedora 33 I upgraded last eve :) ). It has gotten much much better...
Congrats to Fedora team!
Thinkpad carbon X1 6th gen
--output-diff is what you are looking for
I really like Fedora honestly - I switched off of Ubuntu a few years ago after the Unity shakedown and have not regretted it one bit. Works perfectly and has very up to date pkgs available in core repos (unlike Ubuntu).
I agree. And the book does off into crazy land about the 1/2 through to the end of the book.
BUT I think the first part is actually a pretty good approachable explanation of the Federal Reserve and how our money works.
I beleive Fedora 33 is defaulting to nano, so based on that so is RHEL
Yeha I agree, considering it is free why not open source it to alleviate those concerns?
Programming AND speaking AND good writing will put you on a better career path.
This is very true. If you are a decent developer AND have this "speaking AND good writing skills" you will go much further - it really separates you from the pack...
